Hi everyone,
I’m a Somali Canadian living in Quebec, and I’m sponsoring my wife from Somaliland (northern Somalia) thru the Dar Salam office. Although NAIROBI is responsible for applicants living in somalia, our file has been transfered to DS due to backlogs in NAI. Here is our timeline.

1. We received xxx application for permanent residence on April 26, 2016.
2. We started processing xxx application on July 6, 2016.
3. Medical results have been received.

when should i order my GMCS notes and has anyone been transfered to DS visa office?

I still haven't received my GCMS notes. if you request email do they sometimes still send it by letter?

No.

I emailed them on day 31 to remind them they are late. I got them the next morning.

where did you send the email?

The email near the end of the confirmation email they send when you apply.

If there are any April 2016 spousal applicants who are processing through the Mexico City Visa Office, please say hello in the Mexico forum here on Canadavisa and add your timeline info to the Mexico Timeline spreadsheet (see my sig line).

Hi

GCMS notes are an in depth look at what is happening with your file.

They tell you where your file is at the VO, ex. Registry, Put Away etc.

They contain personalized notes written by the officer processing your file regarding your relationship and application.

They contain updates on your assessments- Eligibility, CRIM/SEC, Medical etc and show you when they were last worked on.

Pretty much everything you need to know about your file is in these notes.

They take up to 30 days to be sent to your email.

I order them again each time they arrive.

After days of daily checking with no success, I was starting to wonder whether the Ottawa office had lost its fast mojo with the April applications. I decided to stop checking daily as I thought I might be jinxing it :)

I combined my applications (MyCIC to ECAS) earlier in the week so I woke up this morning to an email telling me that my application had been updated. I log in to the following information:

Application/profile status Closed
Review of eligibility Passed
Review of medical results Passed
Review of submitted documents
Scheduling an interview
A background check is needed Complete
Final decision This application has been approved

And then I logged into ECAS to confirm that it said Decision Made. So I assume the next thing is to wait for COPR to be mailed to me which will be about 1-2 weeks.

Congrats! If I might ask, when was your app received? Just trying to judge timelines...

We had an additional doc request - namely, waiting on the FBI to come in... Hoping once that is sent in they will continue to be speedy. Fingers crossed.

My VO was Ottawa although I am an Australian citizen living in Canada.

Sorry, my timelines are in the Google doc. for April but they are also copied below:

Application received by CPC-M: April 18 2016
Stage 1 AOR: 6 May 2016
Sponsorship approval: 13 June 2016
ECAS in process: 11 June 2016
ECAS third line: 15 June 2016
Decision Made: 12 August 2016

Now I just need to stalk the mail for the next 1-2 weeks!
