My medical was done April 12 2016 so the expiry should be April 2017. Not January 10 2017. Nothing was extended.

I'm guessing they shortened my expiration cause they don't want to give much more than 6 months.

then i would confirm with CIC it is in fact suggesting January, and not October. generally, the copr expires on or after the 1 year medical date. having it expire sooner is not very common...or it could be visa office specific.

so theoretically it would be 1 year from the medical or 6 mo. from issuance. whichever is earlier, perhaps?

I don't know that they have a method to be honest lol.

My husbands medical expired in April 2016, they extended it... his CoPR was issued June 20, 2016 and the expiry on the CoPR is May 31, 2017.

So his CoPR expires the same day his extended medical does.

i'm going to guess this is also visa office specific and whether the person needs a visa to enter canada. if the person is visa exempt, i would imagine the expiry date on the COPR will be longer.

That could be true too! CIC works in mysterious ways!

1 year, unless CIC extends the validity.

You will receive a medical request if you are needed to provide another medical exam.
