then i would confirm with CIC it is in fact suggesting January, and not October. generally, the copr expires on or after the 1 year medical date. having it expire sooner is not very common...or it could be visa office specific.neetwo80 said:My medical was done April 12 2016 so the expiry should be April 2017. 6 months from the date of issue of visa.. can you see when was the visa issued. there will be a date on the visa/COPRCDNPR2014 said:then i would confirm with CIC it is in fact suggesting January, and not October. generally, the copr expires on or after the 1 year medical date. having it expire sooner is not very common...or it could be visa office specific.

Yes. I believe this is how it works.CDNPR2014 said:interesting, i'm not sure i've noticed that before. that could make sense...
so theoretically it would be 1 year from the medical or 6 mo. from issuance. whichever is earlier, perhaps?
I don't know that they have a method to be honest lol.neetwo80 said:Yes. I believe this is how it works.
i'm going to guess this is also visa office specific and whether the person needs a visa to enter canada. if the person is visa exempt, i would imagine the expiry date on the COPR will be longer.Canadian_Irish_ said:I don't know that they have a method to be honest lol.
My husbands medical expired in April 2016, they extended it... his CoPR was issued June 20, 2016 and the expiry on the CoPR is May 31, 2017.
So his CoPR expires the same day his extended medical does.
That could be true too! CIC works in mysterious ways!CDNPR2014 said:i'm going to guess this is also visa office specific and whether the person needs a visa to enter canada. if the person is visa exempt, i would imagine the expiry date on the COPR will be longer.
Hi.. Just want to clarify regrding expiration of medical results. I had my upfront medical exam last march 2016, when should i expect that my medical results will expire? Is it 6 months after or 1 year? Do i have to have my remedical or should i wait for a request from the embassy? Thank you and God bless!..Canadian_Irish_ said:I don't know that they have a method to be honest lol.

You will receive a medical request if you are needed to provide another medical exam.
