I received copr through Canada Post this morning! We are planning to do flagpoling at some point this summer.

That's fantastic news! Congratulations!
If I may, can I ask how long it took you to recieve it after you had decision made?

Congrats! ;D

I have some (less important) news as well. I got my SIN number today. The Service Canada I went to was almost completely empty and I didn't have to wait at all. I'll be applying for a job today and I've already pretty much been told I'm likely to get it. It's finally starting to sink in that I'm a PR.

P.S. I miss cold weather. It's so hot here today and so humid. It's only 20C here, but I'm used to cooler weather anyways.

Congrats on the SIN and likelyhood of employment!

Miss the cold weather?

I hate winter lol. I prefer the tropical climate and daily +30-35C in my wife's country lol.

Thank you ;D and yes, I miss the cold weather. 30-35C would be way too hot for me :P. 13C and a nice breeze is how I like it. I've never experienced a tropical climate before.

With proper AC tropical climate is awesome lol.

I thought you meant actual cold weather. 13C is not cold lol. -20C is getting there ;)

Thanks Johnybegood, CanGer, and Decoy24601 for the congrats!

CanGer, I had decision made on June 30th, so it took 2 weeks from decision made to copr.
Also, fyi, I got a PPR email on June 29th, and I sent a copy of my passport, which CIC received on July 6th. Then, 5 days later, they sent out my copr on July 11 :)

And, congratulations Decoy24601 for getting SIN and the potential employment

Thank you ;D. Hopefully, your COPR won't take long in the mail at all.

I don't mind anything right around freezing, as long as it's not too far under, but around 13C is where I prefer it. Some people consider 13C to be on the "colder" side for summer at least ;D.

That's true, I guess AC and a dehumidifier would make a tropical climate much more tolerable.

haha.. even i am an Oriental.. somehow I can not handle hot anymore. i went to Asia back in 2011.. i cant even breath.. i think if i live in China again; i could die.. i am not joking. i spent my entire adulthood here and my lung has changed somehow.
We do not need an AC in my area.. Vancouver Island to be specific. we have the best weather in Canada. Green in the winter.

my house has a woodstove and i chop two cords of firewood a year.. so my house never drops below 20c in the winter and i make cookies from my stove. haha,,

I used to live in Regina.. it's -30c all winter.. i still rode a bicycle at that time. thats probably why i am not afraid of cold anymore.. love snow; but we have none here in Nanaimo last year sadly.

Haha, Indonesia is a bit hotter than most of China lol!

I love the weather there. Would love to live in Bali.

I'm in Ottawa. Winter sucks.

lol.. Ottawa?? where about? I work in Ontario visually.. cuz i telecommute from B.C to Ontario everyday.. haha.
sometimes i cant handle other side of Ottawa river.. you know? that;s the line between sanity and insanity.. i know this does not sound PC.. pretty sure you understand what i am talking about.

thats why when i called CIC.. i can tell right away they must be from the insanity side. i deal with them all the time.. you know a typical Quebecois got really upset when you talk in English. lol.

Last year was terrible. The drought was much worse in Bellingham than on the Canadian side because water restrictions were tighter in Bellingham at first I think. When I got there I didn't see a single bit of green grass anywhere, but the grass was still green around Vancouver. I remember surviving on ice-water and a small fan last summer. This summer has been much milder so far. I'm hoping for snow this winter (which pretty much never happens here).

I kind of miss Alaskan summers for the snow, but I do not miss 6+ months of it.

It was 30 something today here.

I wouldn't mind never seeing snow again tbh.

ok, so just ordered my GCMS notes. Not because I'm worried about how long its taking but mainly because im curious. Wonder how far my application is along. Also curious to see if theyve flagged my lack of chinese police cert as an issue.

Hopefully get an email with them within the next couple weeks! Think I did it right.
