Congratulations Decoy!!! Super excited for you!

Ottawa is THE office right now. Super praying that our app gets sent there. Almost at the 50 day Mark, maybe on Monday I'll try calling CIC about SA and hope I get a nice agent

Guys guys guys!
53 days since my AOR1, I called CIC for a second time today (last week I had called as well), and the helpful, nice lady told me that my sponsorship was approved just yesterday and it is on it's way to Ankara (Turkey), but hasn't arrived yet! Yay!
Anybody wanna dance with me? :D

Hello Everyone,
I am a April applicant. My spouse received a email from Delhi visa office requesting for RPRF fee. The email has the info that the Proof of payment of RPRF fee is to be sent to Mississauga. But it does not mention the address. Please could anyone guide me here. Thanks

Congratulations everyone who heard from CIC :)

Hello everyone !!

Could anyone impart the knowledge, that is AOR1 a stage where it would be correct to say/assume that all the documents sent were complete and has nothing missing in the file.....??

Just being curious... any thoughts ??

Certainly anything critical can be assumed to be there. You can still get a request for more information or additional documents. So if you think you can stop worrying, Sorry. :)

Hi Sous02 !!

Thanks for your response .... so if I interpret your comment correctly it means that it is a stage where it has passed the basic checks and if anything additional is required would be requested for.... Thanks in advance !!

if you are waiting for Sponsor Approval, then all that CIC will be doing with the principal applicant's application is checking that it is complete - meaning that there are not any missing forms are signatures. They are NOT reviewing the applicant's application at this time for anything else. AOR means basically that there are no missing forms or signatures and that the application has been received - nothing more. SA means the sponsor has been approved and the other application is forwarded to the visa office. There is still possibility the principal applicant will receive additional requests from cic when their application is picked up for processing. Until you actually get your COPR, there is always a chance for additional requests.

Just received reply for the cse i raised two weeks ago regarding my ecas......good to see they still answers everyones questions!

Hi all,

Am applying for PR with my wife as Sponsor (Canadian)
Besides, on 4th August we go 10 days on a usual vacation to Calgary to be with parents in law, in the last 8 years have been already 10 times there

I presume that I will get the Decision Made of my Visa Office in July, and positive.
So, they would ask me to send (my country Spain is Visa exempted) the copy of some pages of the Passport, and then they will send to me the COPR.
So as you see for the dates, I would be going to Canada after the issue of the COPR. However this holiday trip is a tourist one. Because we want to do the landing in the end of the year for some professional reasons.
(note: the COPR will have limit of February 2017 as per medical report, so there is no rush)
That poses me some questions:
Can I still land in Calgary in August as tourist , once the Paris office has issued a COPR ?
I have somewhere read that if I arrive to the airport , but do not show the COPR, so not making the “landing in Canada” procedures, then the “landing” is not activated
(note: maybe at arrival in the passport inmigration desk they have the info of my COPR in his computer)
Maybe there is another option that is: when I get in July the PR Letter request from the Visa Office to send the pages of my passport, then send them to Paris in the end of August (after returning from holidays in Canada) . Because is there any deadline days to send them to Paris ?

Yes, I somehow weird that having the possibility to “land” already in August, we want to land later, but we need to stay some more months in Spain to make money that make our life easier in Calgary after the real “landing”

Thank you in advance

yes, you can enter canada as a visitor if you are not ready to land as pr. the only rule is that you need to land before the expiration date on your COPR. If you don't intend to land, then don't bring your COPR. If CBSA says something about your approval when you are entering as a visitor, then just explain the situation. they aren't going to care or make trouble for you. this is very common.

As for a deadline to send your passport copy to your visa office, yes there is a deadline. that information is in the passport request letter you will receive - generally it's 30 days. if you do not submit before the deadline, your file is at risk of closing without approval. when you get the letter, make sure to read the instructions carefully and submit everything they are asking before the due date listed in the letter. if you are visa exempt, there is a chance your PPR will be waived and you will just receive your COPR in the mail.

Question: I'm thinking about calling CIC Monday to inquire about my SA approval...am I, the sponsor, ok to call or does it have to be the PA? It's me that they are approving at this point...

Thanks in advance!
