Hi guys,
I'm new here. I have filed sponsorship application on April 13th and received by CPC on April 14th. I got my AOR on May 5th and until now I haven't received my SA as well. I was very nervous at first as I think almost all the people got their SA in one week after they got AOR. After I checked the spreadsheet of Jan, Feb, I found the timeline is different after March. The applicants before March got their AORs around 35-40 days and got SA within a week. While the March and April applicants get AOR within 20-22 days and have to wait another 3 weeks to get SA. If my guess is correct, I think we will get a lot of SA soon ;) ;D ;D

This is the most bizarre system. On an unrelated matter I received an email from CIC in the middle of the holiday yesterday. In a million years I do not believe anyone was working on a stat holiday. They must have the strangest outgoing email system.

My guess would be paid government overtime to reduce backlog.
Purely a guess.

Definitely all quiet on the SA front and also quiet from CIC in general.

Really hoping some people start getting them this week, but hey at least its encouraging knowing that you're not the only one. Got to be frustrating for anyone over 40 days but again, not the only ones. CIC are clearly starting to get backed up again it would seem.

It was my local MP's open house this afternoon. I actually met the new MP in person myself. I raised the issue of people waiting way more than the processing time. She agrees with me that there was no standard with CIC at all. She is going to raise this issue with the Minister McCallum herself. MP her self told me she knew a case was waiting for 4 years.. She blamed the Harper gov's cut back on all processing centres.. this gov supposes to be different.. i heard this sort of politicians tone already.

My own case, the MP assistance herself told me there was a delay with the inquiry. it has been a week.. maybe an answer in 2 days or so.

ps: I am actually a chair person of a local community organization; i believe that was the reason why the MP was able to meet me face to face; there were so many others raised different federal issues. but i still felt lucky to meet the MP myself.

Anytime you can bring this up to an mp it is a good thing. Might not help us much but maybe future applicants. We have a conservative mp in our area or I would chain myself to his door! Lol

Wondering if it's because more IO are being sent abroad to process Syrian refugees during last couple of weeks.

I honestly doubt it. 60+ days for SA is historically normal. Not acceptable, but normal.

I have a few questions:

(1) My name, sponsor, on the AOR1 email is spelled incorrectly. Do I need to contact them? The UCI # is correct.

(2) How many days will I be able to access our info in ecas after getting AOR1?

1: Yes, I would contact them to let them know your name is spelled wrong.
2: That's completely up in the air. It took me about a week. For some people it takes longer and some people can access it the next day, some never can. Sometimes only the SA side or the PA side won't be visible with the sponsor's information and UCI.

So after CIC called us today and told us the Common-law date was incorrect (we put the date 12 months from when we moved in together - this is apparently incorrect!), we have sent the required letter to the officer processing our case.

Would anyone recommend sending a Case Specific Enquiry too?

Thanks -

The requirement is NOT the Option C Printout. In February the CIC changed the requirement to include the Notice of Assessment, not the Option C Printout. You're fine. The document checklist even states the Notice of Assessment is required along with directions on how to obtain one.

not a good day ;D

Thanks a lot for the help
