App Rcv'd: Apr 4th
ECAS in process: Apr 27
Until now there is no SA mail. I called them on May 12 and the agent was good enough to send a message to the officer regarding my case. I waited like two weeks and called them again 5 minutes ago and the lady told me I could not call them every week. I should wait for 3 months and if the officer did not respond to the message, call back again. I asked if our case is undergoing background check or something like that but she could not conclude.
However, I got some useful information from her. Although we're applying outside Canada while my wife is in Canada, they will decide the visa office based on where we throw out the application, not the country of origin. Therefore, our case should be processed by CPC-O.

Ottawa seems to be reserved for Americans.
the 1st portion before SAs, no matter where you live; everyone is processed in CPC-Mississauga

They called my partner and mentioned the common law date we put on her forms were incorrect. The officer said she knows it's confusing but the common law date should be the day you moved in together not the date 12 month from the you moved in together. Luckily at this stage we just need to write a letter explaining we got the date wrong and post it to A PO Box address.
This is the totally opposite of what I've read on this and other forums!! But we'll do as they ask.
Anyone else heard of this?
Well, for us it's very simple. My husband (the sponsor) is a Canadian citizen by birth, has lived here his whole life, submitted his Notice of Assessment, never went on anything other than disability, etc.naticom said:I was wondering about the cases from those who has yet to receive SA approval (including me). What's your situation? For myself, as a sponsor, I landed as a immigrant since last October. I did not have a CRA notice of assessment, and we got married within 3 months. So basically I'm a new immigrant who has no tax report. (One of my Canadian friends did not attach the CRA notice but his wife still got PR after 7 months. He's a citizen and was living in another Country since 18 so he did not file Canadian tax return.)
How about you?

No news still.
To be honest, I was expecting a lot more news out of Mississauga today. Looks like no one new officially has SA yet.yijiequ said:same.. i am a naturalized citizen.. Yeah... even if the date you officially entered the common-law relationship was the date 12 months ago instead of the end of that... so? It wouldn't affect your application at all, lol. I don't completely understand why the officer felt the need to call you. That person might be new.naticom said:Guys, thank you for your reply. It seems that it's The officer's problem not ours. Just stay chill and pray for the best for us.
This is the most bizarre system. On an unrelated matter I received an email from CIC in the middle of the holiday yesterday. In a million years I do not believe anyone was working on a stat holiday. They must have the strangest outgoing email system.Decoy24601 said:To be honest, I was expecting a lot more news out of Mississauga today. Looks like no one new officially has SA yet.
