We got SA yesterday and I got an email this morning requesting my background check. Oddly enough, they asked for a SCANNED copy.

Suuuuper annoyed at the FBI right now for their processing times and suuuuper annoyed at CIC that they allow channellers again. What crappy timing for us in the middle of the process.

- I know some of the 3rd party FBI background check companies can get the background check within a couple days. It might cost you $100, but I think it would be worth it. I had to wait from Nov 2015 until the beginning of April to receive my background check from the FBI. It would've been so much better if we wouldn't have had to wait that long. It will end up taking longer than the PR visa!

Is there any possible way of cancelling the one I submitted?
 
I did MP enquiry. His official noted down my details and told me the case is very simple so should not be any problems. He said he will get back within 10 business days. Chances are there to get it approved before that. Lets see how it goes. This is my 39th day. No SA yet

Feeling the same way. Woke up with high hopes of hearing something today, but no updates at the moment. On another note, my email account never looked so polished! LOL
 
Does anyone know what time the CIC online update is on Tuesdays? I got an email yesterday saying SA but it still hasn't updated online. Anything similar happening to others?

There is a spot in the IMM1344 form to list the sponsor's email address.

This is when I log in with the UCI with the sponsors information OR the File Number with the sponsor's information. If I log in with the file number and the Principal Applicant's information, I cannot see the sponsor's details.

Meds Received has little to nothing to do with the processing of your application. Mine has been exactly like this from the day I first accessed eCAS after AOR. The processing dates for the sponsor are also inaccurate, since it says they started processing it the day before they sent me AOR. In process can mean that they have opened your file, not that they are necessarily processing it at the current time.

eCAS is notoriously inaccurate. SA may not even show up. If you see the right hand side, the principal applicant's side, say "In Process" then you likely have gotten SA and the file has been transferred to the corresponding VO.

For my application, ecas only shows the status of pr application not the sponsorship application. is it normal?

there is no "normal" when it comes to ECAS. it really shouldn't be used to determine what's going on with your file.
 
Just sharing my experience and this will only apply to US applicants:

Since channellers are allowed, I decided to go with it this morning even though my app was submitted to the FBI directly in March. I wanted my results and I didn't want to play the waiting game. I found a channeller, made an appt, paid $50 and was finished. 10 minutes after my appt was over, I got my results. Totally worth the extra money because I can now respond to their request for my check in the same day!
 
nothing new for me today on ecas lol
