Unlikely they will ask for his 2015 notice or they would be waiting for a lot!!
Doing these documents is without a doubt the most stressful experience, well maybe the waiting is? :)
I don't know which is more stressful either ;D. I just want to get it over with. Attending an interview would require me to leave Canada and it would be unlikely that I would be allowed back in, I think, so I really hope that I did everything I can to prevent that from happening (Plus, flights to LA are expensive).

Unlikely youll be asked for an interview.

If you have no red flags youll probably be fine :)

My husband and I have a 10 year age gap, which I'm a little concerned about, but it's not like it's an extreme age gap and it's not against cultural norms. Plus, he's the older one. With the fact that I'm American and we have plenty of evidence I doubt it will be an issue in reality, but I'm still paranoid.

I'm confused though, how come some are saying you don't need a job to sponsor your spouse?
Isn't that why they talk about minimum income requirement and ask for employment papers, payslips and everything, so to prove you can take care of your sponsored spouse?

There technically isn't a minimum income requirement to sponsor a spouse, however, you do have to prove that you will be able to provide for your spouse with the evidence you mentioned.

main reason they want option c, and proof of employment etc is to make sure you aren't on any benefits. you could earn nothing but they want to make sure that its only you who is responsible for your spouse.

Hi April applicants.

I've adapted the spreadsheet that Officer made, so we can follow the progress of applicants from this month.

Here is the link: http://tinyurl.com/hrgexb8 and its also in my signature.

Input your own details. Only put details in the fields marked with an asterix. The other fields have formulas in them which will calculate the rest of the time. There's an example at the time which I've included so all the fields show up, including average time calculations. I'll remove it after enough people are on the spreadsheet.

I'll be inputting my name on it later when I hopefully submit mine in a couple weeks. Just waiting on police certificates!

Good luck all. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Gary

Thanks. I'll add myself as well, after they receive my application. I am still waiting on translations and then I have to do an affidavit to authenticate them and then the consulate can certify them. The consulte here is away until April 20th though, or can send everything to Rome to certify but they haven't responded to any of my emails yet and I'm not sure how that would work. Hopefully my Application is received this month.

Good luck. Better to make aure its all there though than rushing it. After you send it you dont want to see it again :p

Thanks so much for your responses. This Forum is super helpful.

I want to make sure with you guys that I don't need to provide a Canadian tax assessment. I've been living outside of Canada for more than 10 years and so have not paid taxes in Canada. I'm applying outland. I was told to provide my Italian tax assessment. Also, I want to make sure that I don't have to provide my husband's tax assessment. He is the immigrant and I'm the sponsor.

I'm getting paranoid as well. After all this is over. we should get together and celebrate in Canada!

Only tax / payment details for you. Provide a letter explaining youve been living overseas for 10 years and thats why you havent included an option c. Say instead you will include pay slips or italian tax return notices.

Make sure youre providing enough evidence to prove your intent to return :)

Hi,

my husband (Sponsor) also worried not having a full time job only part time but soon be over. i told him that there's no minimum income and we can still apply even his unemployed if ever. he got employment insurance before but no welfare.i told him, as long as he can prove he can support me of course yes, we don't have any dependents too.

Yes, we finally submitted our application and it was received and signed for on the 5th of April :-)
