I understand, but for it to be location specific, atleast our applications should be transferred to local office. Before that its there in sydney itself.
I think it is the office itself which determine when to receive applications for processing from Sydney

Are u sure? If yes, how come?

Because if that was the case, files should get transferred in a sequential manner and not in just any random order.

Not too sure, but I heard one time that the criminal records check happens in Sydney, before they transfer your file. As it's never the same time frame it takes to check everyones criminal records, this may explain the different time lines taht everyone is having. Not saying that if you have some bad records it will take longer and if any it should take just few days... even if you don't have no records it might takes from few days to few weeks before they analyse everything.

not 100% sure, this is just my guess and I think I read it here somewhere in this forum. But it me it is logic, as you see most in process applications are either from Vancouver and Montreal....so why these two cities specifically..... ::)

It is CPC - Sydney who forward applications to the local office, in batches of 25. There is nothing mentioned about local offices being able to put forwarding on hold.

All the checks are initiated by CPC-Sydney. Usually they do not transfer the file to the local office until they have all results.

You can order all their internal instructions through ATIP and will know more than most CIC employees :)

I wish you are right. But how could you explain that certain offices (e.g Vancouver) are very fast in application being received to in process stage than others. also some people in the same office be in process while others who received AOR much earlier are still show received.....
by the way what you mean by You can order all their internal instructions through ATIP and will know more than most CIC employees
thanks a lot

You can request CIC to provide you all their documentation related to Citizenship programme, specifically all manuals used by CPC-Sydney. It is around 950 pages, 500 after all exempted information is severed.

I do not have any explanations as I am not from CIC, but the main reasons could be that your statistics is incomplete, or that some offices have fewer applications, or different staffing situation. My application was AOR - in process the same day, for example, and it is Montreal. Of course count in all the errors those CIC peeps make, and they make them all the time :)

My Application just went to 'In Process'. The note I see the application went 'In Process' on July 6.

I am an applicant from Toronto.
I sent the application on April 11 and CIC received my application April 15. I received my AOR on May 12.

This is a sign things are moving for GTA applicants? Hopefully that is the case. I will provide constant updates when I hear anything more :)

That's great! I believe you're the first one amongst the April group from the GTA to be In Process.

CONGRATS to those who went In Process. I hope Ottawa/Kingston applicants will also hear the good news soon
