dear friends, my is also in 'Received' Status.
Have a question: Hope someone knowledgeable
should be able to answer. I missed writing an
address for question 6E (Addresses in Last 4 years).
I sent an amendment to question 6E and sent to CIC, Sydney
10 days back (it reached them june 22) . Does CIC, Sydney attach the amendment to
to a File or just trash it. I wrote 'IMPORTANT INFORMATION' on the envelop, and
mentioned my UCI and File Number. I informed of this update to
CIC, Sydney before they even asked me. Will they consider this
as a Honest mistake on my part or deduce me a culprit.

one more information. when i say missed, i mean i was a consultant for a time period.
i provided my temporary addresses (addresses where i stayed while i was working). i also had a home address (base).
i provided all my temporary addresses, but missed writing my home address in original application. hence added
my home address in the amendment. kindly some one share ur thoughts.

Happy Canada Day :)

well, in my opinion, they will consider the amendment.

Dear Godhelp,

It is your right to add and modify information, your information. It is their role to assess and verify this information.

Minor mistakes will not impact your application but since you amended them, I believe they will correct your application and proceed from there.

Thanks,

thank u cairo and april2015 for the words
of encouragement. i am quite nervous
these days because of the missing address (6E).
Hope they attach the amendment I sent 10 days back
to my file.

The most important thing is that you provided addresses in your applications. These were the ones where you did stay during your consultancy work and this is the truth. Your permanent address, which is registered on your driver's licence and other legal documents, are proof of the amendment that you sent. In my opinion and if I were CIC, I would look at you as an honest and detailed person.

What's even more important is that you have an acknowledgement of receipt of your application. It will go in process and I see no obvious reason for hiccups. If they have any concern, they will certainly mail you to verify. This could only delay the processing time for so many days. That is all.

Here is an example: my son received a letter soon after his file went in process verifying name truncation issue. It was a misunderstanding from his side during the filling of his application. He thought that it was a way to shorten his name. It wasn't obviously. Soon after he received their mail, he called up the CIC and they told him it was no problem so long as he replied to their letter with a reasonable explanation. He did and the mail was received by the CIC. We have not heard from them yet. This proves that if they notice something during process, they will stop and ask you to verify. You already are a step ahead of that stopping and verification with hopefully no waste of time. By all means, your file will not be returned to you if you have an AOR.

Thanks,

exactly cairo u r correct, i mentioned the temporary
addresses where i stayed during my consultancy
days. in the amendment i mentioned of my
permanent home address (where my
bank account, business, health card etc..) are registered.
hope they attach amendment to my file. someone in past
told me they trash any new additional documents they
receive from candidate, if they have not requested it.

Trash? Well, this would be ridiculous! Any information you provide to the CIC is official and trashing it would be an act of negligence. They cannot do that. Anyway, put yourself in their shoes: would you neglect such piece of information? It is now up to them to record your correct address or having to deal and live with other temporary ones and invite you to a test, an interview and oath based on incomplete information while you supplied the correct ones. They will have to update your details!

Thanks,
