second, no offence but I am still trying to understand from others prospective that why its sad or bad even if it takes a year or 15 months to get citizenship.... I was on my toes when I applied for PR as I could not move to Canada without that but not sure how 3-6 months up or down to get citizenship is sad or bad... for sure I am missing some point (prospective) of other applicants ... any suggestions?
I 100% agree with whatever you wrote.april2015 said:thanks so much sunafi for your sharing your thoughts

Improving efficiency
Canada's citizenship program is being improved by reducing the decision-making process from three steps to one. It is expected that, by 2015–2016, this change will bring the average processing time for citizenship applications down to under a year. It is also projected that by 2015-2016, the current backlog will be reduced by more than 80 percent.

Remaining Citizenship Act reforms coming into force
The first set of provisions that came into force last summer to strengthen Canadian citizenship and speed up application processing times are already paying off. New citizenship applications are being finalized in a year or less, and it is expected that the backlog of older files will have been eliminated by the end of this fiscal year. Individuals who submitted a citizenship application before April 1, 2015 will have a decision by March 31, 2016.

And with regards to the frustration (or feeling sad) due to the slow movement, well, I totally agree with you that it does not really matter even if it takes a year or 15 months BUT while it's heartening to see all other local offices except GTA & Ottawa are progressing well and in time despite the fact that we all April applicants filed our applications around the same time, it is indeed frustrating to see why only GTA & Ottawa applications have not progressed beyond "In Process"
That's just my personal view and I don't know what other GTA & Ottawa applicants have to say about it. Not sure if they all are content with their case is progressing or share the same view as I do

I am not sure whats the reason for our slow movement.
We submitted at the same time with other april applicants, we paid the same fee as them. But still we are stuck! I feel application should be processed on first come first served basis

Hi Sparkel, we are quite in the same boat. My app is in process since June 23rd and no progress since then. I called CIC end July and they confirmed my file is in Sydney. I ordered my ATIP 10 days ago and I am still waiting for them, hopefully I will have some clarity on my file with that... Did you try to call CIC to enquire about the status of your application?sparkle said:I am from the windsor region and file has been "In Process" since June 9. No movement since...almost 3 months now. I ordered the ATIP, and they just arrived. Cant understand much, but I can tell the RCMP and criminal check is passed. It doesnt say anywhere that the file has been transferred.
When did you order ATIP? I mean you received it in how many days? I have also ordered it but still waiting.sparkle said:I am from the windsor region and file has been "In Process" since June 9. I received them just after a month since I applied.zoya_99 said:When did you order ATIP? I mean you received it in how many days? I have also ordered it but still waiting.
But does ATIP informs you that your file was transferred to local office or not,..cprak0 said:At this point, on the ATIP report, all about clearances, Triage value, potential refusal grounds are
all whited out stating s21 or s22 exemptions which just adds to your confusion as to the status
of your application unless you are most optimistic. ATIP makes sense only much later or
for those RQed when clearances are done and CO have had chance to look through the case...
