If the sponsor has been on welfare is the biggest reason I believe.

Are they really hard on checking for proof that the sponsor is going back to CA?

That is usually assessed in the second half of the application, not during the first part. All they're checking is if you're eligible to sponsor someone.

I am currently living outside Canada, and I applied worried about this, I have lots of circumstantial proof of my intent to move back to canada (telling people and them writing letters, informing my employer of my intent not to continue and getting a letter of employment in regards to that, and writing in the sponsor questionnaire that our goal is to return to Canada by December to participate in my wife's first real Christmas)

So if they check, that's what they saw from me, and I got SA yesterday.

ECAS for sponsorship changed to Decision Made...ECAS for PR is application received and meds received...still waiting for that decision though!!!!

what's the next status update? will cic notify you if the outland office received your package? or just update the status to "In process"?

Not all offices notify you when they receive the application. Example: Moscow doesn't. :(.

And neither New Delhi. None of the outland visa offices notifies as in when they recieved the application. When the status changes to medical recieved and in process the next thing you are looking at is "decission made" nothing in between.

some get a 2nd AOR, though I don't know if they get that when the VO gets the application, or begins work on it.

Any one know when they update the website to see which dates they are working on?

Oh. Thanks for the update on that. It doesn't seem like the process is moving fast because its now on april 4th and tonight is the end of the week they will update that they are working on 7th april applicants. That is just 3 days in one week. Its same as it is right now. I hope they change 4th of april to a double digit number.
