Congratulations!

Quick question, khan, you got ready for visa email from your 2014 CEC application, right? You didn't apply under EE?

Thank you!

Yes, I am April 2014 CEC applicant, now the E-cas shows decision made. I think they now start working on old CEC applications.

Congratulations my friend!!

Finally your long wait is over.

Best Regards,

After 18 months we finally got Passport request. But as nothing goes simple for me, there is a situation with my girlfriend now. She is Mexican, she have valid work permit and valid passport, but her travel visa that Mexicans require to enter Canada is expired. If we send our passports there will that be an issue? Or that is just a document that she need to enter/exit Canada?

It shall not be issue if her work permit is still valid. Work Permit is not a travel document however it allows you to legally stay and work in Canada.
The travel visa as you stated is just a document which she needs to enter or exit Canada.

So as per my understanding she should be fine and would get the single entry visa stamped.

However if someone had other experiences please share.

Best bet confirm the situation by calling CIC.

Best Regards,

My timeline:

We send everything on April 1st, 2014, they received it on April 7th. AOR was issued around April 20th. I sent some extra explanation letters in January or February. On May 12th they start processing our file. On May 15th we got MR request, RPRF fee and requests for USA and Mexico police clearance certificate.
Just few days before, at the begining of May, we received FBI police clearance and together with copies of proof of MR/payment for RPRF/proof of delivery Mex application for PCC to Canadian Embassy in Mex City we sent also original USA police clearance, they received it around June 1st. Canadian Embassy in Mexico upload PCC on Aug 28th. On September 8th they emailed us that they have not receive yet USA PCC, I sent explanation letter and copy of USA pcc...and then yesterday they email us passport request.

18 months!
