DingoBaby said:Just completed my flagpole this afternoon. No problems and pretty much no questions from the Canadian officer at all. I had more questions from the US customs guy wondering why I would move to Canada from Australia. He also wondered why I didn't want to go to the states today, I told him "I already had lunch". The other thing with doing the flagpole is to be wary of the US customs officer, make sure they don't 'deny' you entry to the US. They can get confused on what box to tick in the system for classing you as a flagpole. If they deny you entry, you will always have to tick the box from then on when entering the USA "Have you ever been denied entry into the USA". You don't want that, it means questions every time you cross.
The only weird thing is on my white 'Confirmation of Permanent Residency' is that it says it is only valid until December 2015. The officer assured me this is only the validity of entry period for using this form. Hopefully my PR card gives me an end date.
I'm so glad this journey is finally over. I have been living in Canada for over a year unemployed (long story), I can finally go back to work! I'm so happy this is over. Time for a beer!
Good luck everyone. This forum has been indispensable.
I'm in the April spreadsheet but "We received your application for permanent residence on May 2, 2014." is in my ECAS status.Amisnic said:When did you apply?
