Hi Guys,

I am planning to do my landing tomorrow via rainbow bridge . Apart from my passport and 2 copies of CoPR , do I need to take anything.

Also, my spouse is in Canada but planning to go on Vacation to her home country. While coming back to Canada she is planning to do her landing. Is it possible ? What extra documents she does need apart from passpor + CoPR. Does she need copy of my PR card ?

My kid is Canadian born and I have informed CIC last year about that . I can see my kid's detail in GCMS notes also. Do I need to send the details again to CIC, as written in the document I got along with CoPR?

You are not the only one. Even I don't have any update on my case. God knows what they are doing with my application....

So far I have 2 GCMS notes and no update on my case

No, CoPR and Passport should be more than enough. However, it's up to you to grab something that justify your address in Canada, such us a telephone bill, cable, etc

No problem at all. You have to land first if you are the principal applicant.

Your kid is Canadian, so no worries.

Guys,

Is any of you applying for jobs?

If yes, what do you mention as your residency status; i.e., how do you mention that you are almost PR?

I am applying for academic jobs which permanent residency is very important and has a great impact on my applications to be considered. I am not a PR yet but technically I am almost there. It's so annoying that I cannot yet declare my status and am losing my opportunities because of this.

I wouldn't lie about your status. You're not PR yet (even though you're super close). It's a tough call though. Best of luck!

No, you don't have to send a notification to CIC as far as I know. They are just considering your experience based on your application and all the support document you haven sent to CIC so far. If they don't ask for it, you shouldn't send it. That's my point of view. Hope it helps!

VS1987, nov_2014, sjulien and veeru5: we're about to hit April and I'm sure you'll have good news soon. Also, sometimes background checks takes a while if your application has many dependants or comes from a country from which CIC requires more checks. Don't lose hope! Good things are just around the corner!
