I got "Ready for Visa" email about half hour ago... Finally, after over 5 years of wait and ups and downs.

I wish you all who are waiting "an email with this subject in your mailbox"!

why would it not be valid?
I am not sure about it. Actually yesterday around 6:30 pm I got a call from CIC and they mentioned to me again (emailed me last Thursday) that the CoPR are not valid and I need to send it back to them, so they can issue me a new one. I asked why they cannot just send me the new ones, they said they have to keep everything in file. Oh well, it is going back to them today, hopefully there will not be too much of delay.

That's a drag but you still are in a better position than those still waiting for any update.

Just a little more patience. :D

Ok, if I were you I would provide CIC a more detailed list of duties that you actually did at work to show that your fit into the 1211 (I assume your work permit states that you were to work in NOC 1211). You could even include your annual performance review to validate that.

On the children's front, now that you have provided CIC a statutory declaration that should not be an issue.

Hi all!

I Just want to share my case, I received my AOR April 29, 2014 up until now I didn't hear anything from CIC. I seek for advises regarding my case ( http://i.imgur.com/Z5xONL0.jpg ) < ---copy and paste it on another tab, I am sending CIC a statutory declaration that I understand that I cannot sponsor my children in the future. I tried everything to make ex-wife cooperate but she continue to refuse (she doesn't even want to get them a passport). I am also including my divorce certificate to inform CIC about my status (from legally separated to divorced). I also hope that the VO will consider that my job responsibilities are from NOC 1211 not from 1221 (check my GCMS notes) in which on my work permit it is really NOC 1211.

To the seniors and whomever will take time reading my notes, I am grateful and thanks in advance.
If you can share me your thoughts about my application, I am open to any suggestion.

Thanks!

Hello my dear fellow applicants,

I wanted to update my status.

PPR received on Feb 26th, 2015
Passports received by CIC in Ottawa on March 2nd, 2015
Passports and COPR received from CIC on March 24th, 2015

I am already in Canada. Any tips on what would be the best way to land? I am currently at work and I haven't reviewed the instructions provided along with the passports yet.

All the best to all who are waiting! I am sure the wait won't be longer.

You can do the following:

1. Call the number provided in your CoPR to set an appointment for landing. CIC will dictate the nearest CIC for you to land. Wait for mail from this CIC office for your exact appointment. I've heard, depending on their schedule from the office it may take between 10 days to 2 months to get your appointment. The good thing here is that if there are any corrections in your CoPR, CIC can updated this quickly.

2. Drive to the nearest US border. Tell them that you are going to land as a PR. You can do this anytime you want.

3. Fly out of Canada when you come back do your landing at the airport.

I have received my new passport from my country consulate office. I have scanned and forwarded copy to CPC-CTD-Ottawa office.

Let's see in how many days, they will response.

Hi all,

I just reviewed the CPR and it lists my wife as a dependant. However, I have a 5 month old son who was born in Canada and he is not listed as a dependant. I have notified CIC about his birth when he was born. Should I have him listed as a dependant or was he not listed as a dependant as he was born in Canada and is already a Canadian citizen?

Thanks!

Canadian citizen or not - if he is in your custody, he certainly is your dependant child.
