Hi Forummates,

I applied for a RCMP Civil Criminal Record Check in RCMP Ottawa on September 2013 then I sent an email
to their office for a follow up on November 2013. They replied to me in January this year but they told me
that my certificate was already forwarded directly to CIC Sydney Case Processing Centre in Nova Scotia.
My question is why did they sent my certificate directly to CIC Sydney wherein I have attached a return envelope
in my application??? As far as my knowledge is concern, when you put a return envelope they are suppose to send it back
to your address...Is there anyone here who have the same case as mine? Do you think that this is just normal?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thank you.

thanks 'musti2683' - hope you receive your PPR soon - if you had to wait too long (like one month or so), better you visit 'other' avenues to reach CIC .. such as taking help of local MP ... i have seen couple of such cases where people waited for more than a month (that causes severe distress) to receive PPR only after intervention by a local MP - good luck my friend !!

Thanks SSR..Will keep your advice in mind....

This is really interesting/different compared to what i have seen/understood so far - in your case a decision has been taken on your application before it reached the Visa Office ... in other words, all the required processing was done at CIO, NS - seems like CIC has changed their framework of processing PR applications ... or our past interpretation is wrong - also it makes sense now on why its taking so long to issue PPR emails for recent applicants after reaching "Decision Made" stage (CPC-O is waiting until the application reaches them, which is around, like you said, 2-8 weeks) .... good to know !! anyway congrats again !!

thanks again..

I was considering your opinion about approaching the local MP but then am not too sure whether it will help or worsen my case...by the way the local MP turned out to be none other than the Prime Minister himself for my locality..Mr. Stephen Harper ;)

Any idea how much time do they need to reply for GCMS request? IT's been more than 3 weeks but ni reply yet. I also sent email too CPP-Ottawa and CIO, NS and its also almost 3 weeks and waiting to hear back from them. Any idea, when may they reply or average time to get an answer from them.

Thanks friend

I received email regarding GCMS. They sent me a 45 page pdf file. To be honest, I understood nothing. But in some places they have written, Criminality : passed and Eligibility: passed. Rather than anywhere else, I found nothing regarding the status. Any one have any idea, where should I look at to understand the status of the file? Guys please help me.

I just want to know status of my application, I mean what has been passed and what is under processing. What should I ask then? I am going to order another GCMS note. Can you suggest me what should I request for please?

Look if an officer has been appointed for your security clearance. If it shows Criminality, eligibility and admissibility passed, then you are very close to getting your PPR. I think if you see that all these areas have been passed then i don't think you should order any more GCMS notes. Just hang in there.

Criminality, Eligibility shows 'passed' but admissibility status shows : nothing. There is nothing written whether officer has been appointed or yet to be appointed. But under criminality, it shows that "RCMP" no traceable issues found.
