long time no chat everyone!
I just got back from vacation, and I landed on Saturday march 22nd.
I flew out of halifax went to Dominican republic for a week , then flew back in halfax, did my landing at the airport. the officer at custom asked me the usual questions and i told him i was doing my landing for PR, so he referred me to immigration service down the hall. There was no officer at the immigration counter, i had to wait about 10 mins for someone walked by me to notice me then called someone for help. When the officer came along, he told me that i was lucking i was doing landing at day time, coz he said at night , it would be very hard to find an immigration officer at the airport. And he didnt really know what to do with my landing paper, so he walked away , asking for someone's else help
. My husband had been there with me the whole time ( he is canadian citizen, they advised him at custom counter to stick with me when i m doing my landing) after about 15 mins, the immigration officer came back, and told my husband to go get our luggage and go have a seat. He signed the paper with me, asked me if i need to ship any furniture into Canada (this would be the only time to claim for things without any tax). after signing, he didnt have any Canadian little flags to give to me, he only had a French information booklet for newcomers, I told him just to keep it haha. It did take about 1/2 but it was most waiting period. The officer is nice after all, and he advise me that my PR card will arrive about 2-3 months. Hope this helps guys!
