Hi everyone,

Anyone from Calgary here? I noticed a lot of those from Ontario have already gotten their citizenships so I'm wondering if there's a problem with the local office? Here's my timeline:

Application sent: April 23, 2013
Application received: April 26, 2013
Start processing: July 4, 2013

Haven't heard anything since I got the acknowledgement letter.

Thanks!

Ontario has some of the fastest offices in Canada. Mississauga and Windsor are known to be two of the fastest out there.

I called today...I suspect the agent just checked online the same CIC website and said that they are processing the application...10 minutes wasted
:'(

Don't worry bud. Did you appear for the test? I presume you're in Montreal if I am not mistaken.

Never mind I see on some posts that you got an RQ. BTW, do you know when your application was transferred to the local office?

It would be nice if someone would put up a table showing all the applicants. Easier to track. Check May 2013 thread.

I am happy a lot of you have started receiving citizenship test letters but my application seems to be stuck. My wife and I applied together (both applications mailed in same envelope). My wife had requested to use my last-name as her last-name in citizenship card. So far she has all official documents are with her maiden-name. So, Citizenship sent a letter to my wife - asking for her marriage certificate, copies of provincial IDs etc. (but all those documents show her maiden-name anyway). In any case, she sent all those documents and they recieved those documents on Dec 6, 2013. Funny thing is those documents were already there in the envelope. We haven't heard anything since.

I called call-center and they said our application is going through background/criminal checks. It is still in Nova Scotia (the letter they sent to us asking for marriage certificate etc was also from Nova Scotia and she mailed in the documents to Nova Scotia too). I asked them what is the estimated time for processing and I said my friend that applied AFTER me in May 2013 are already receiving letters for citizenship tests. She said, well, it looks like it should be processed by May 2015. It sounds like she just counted 25 months from date of application and gave me that date. I hope I don't have to wait that long!!

Update on this.

I called call center and they said my file was transferred to Scarborough local office on JAN 14-2014. I am guessing that it means
1. I'll be getting RQ. I think everyone from Scarborough office gets RQ. I should start preparing documentation right away.

Does anyone know how long it takes for Scarborough office to open your file and send you any sort of communication (RQ, or letter for test etc.)?
