Friend of mine got a test invitation 2 weeks ago. He had "In Process" status but there was one more line inside with something like "we sent you a test invitation.. test date. if you didn't get it please call this number...". He is mid-Summer 2012 applicant. Test was scheduled within 12 days from the date he got this invitation mail.Suin said:

So I applied on April 22, 2013. They strated my process since July 8. I received my book in August. Yesterday I received a mail with originlal documenets that I sent them to support my application. So I think they just sent back the documnets they don't need
I called cic, the agent told me that they started to check my file since October 28, but it's not done yet. She also mentionned that Vancouver office is the busy one, so I should expect 12 months from time they send my documnets to Vancouver to get a test date..
I will call them next week to see if there is any update!

Btw my friend, who is immig.agent said that, as I'm going to leave CA only for couple months and I'm going to come back and continue my life here in CA, there should not be a problem. I just need to explain it to judge properly when he asks me questions. He has to be convinced that I'm planning to make my life here in Canada, which is the case.

my file was transferred in April and still waiting for my test :'( In my case we are away for a bit longer, maybe 2 years (according to CIC we are allowed to live outside for up to 3 years ).
