I read somewhere that CEC applicants do not have to carry a proof of funds (for 10000 CAD) while landing.

I am in India for the last two years. Now that I got my PR I am planning to land next month. Is the above statement true in my case also (Just wondering if the statement above is true only for applicants who are already staying in Canada) ?? BTW I have a job offer on hand. I can join immediately after I land.

Please respond and help. Thank you

Correct, proof of funds are not required, yet some officers ask for it. So if you come prepared, hence bring it with you,
you won't have any problems at the POE.
If you have a job offer, be aware that you first have to apply for a new SIN number before you start the job.

All the best!

Hello angiealeliejeff! Sorry I can't share anything regarding your queries since I'm not at that stage yet. Let's wait maybe somebody can share their experience regarding that matter. Anyway, Can I ask what would be the content of the letter if I will make a follow up email regarding the status of our application? Is it possible to ask them regarding the status of application since we are almost close to 13 month by July 6? Previously, I sent an email regarding the medical update if they receive it but no reply from them for the 2 email that I had sent.

Landed in Calgary yesterday. Pretty straight forward.

Officer asked for Passports & COPR, Then read out the questions from COPR (Like any arrests in the past & if any other dependents not declared in the application) I said no. Then I was told to review COPR and sign it. Officer also signed and stamped the COPR and gave my copies to me. Then he briefed me on the permanent resident obligations & what I cannot do as a permanent resident.

Then at customs I was just asked for goods to follow (they returned my sheet with goods accompanying now), the officer photo copied my application and photographs and kept the photo copy with her. Returned my sheets to me with a sign and stamp.

I am done with landing and all it took is some less than 15min.

Thank you everyone on this forum for helping me out on my queries through out the application process. Thank you very much.
