Finally have received CoPR, so happy!!!!! Will be landing soon!!!!

Have a question, should I go into US or I can make only a U-turn if I am from visa exempt Country? Planning to land at Peacebridge. Thank you.

U turn is not an option anymore. Going to the US side and coming back is the best option now.

Hello,

I am new to this forum and an april 2013 applicant. I have a question hopefully someone can help.

I received a request for RPRF payment last week and the email says "This is in reference to your application for a permanent resident visa, which has been found eligible in the Class for which it was submitted. Admissibility review (security, criminality and/or medical) is still ongoing; you will be contacted if additional information is required for that purpose."

Does that mean my application is marked "Eligibility Passed" and will not be rejected for Eligibility Reasons (possible that it may be rejected for Security, Criminality or Medical issues but not eligibility) ? I did not submit employer letter with my application but submitted a lots of supporting documents to prove my employment in Canada. So wondering if I really passed eligibility or if it is just standard email for RPRF request.

This actually means you have passed eligibility. So no worries about that anymore :)

Hi there, I need help!!

I began my PR process when i was working in Canada.Sent the application in Feb and CiC confirmed receiving my application on april 9th 2013. I moved from Canada to Pakistan in September 2013.
I paid my RPRF + biodata on Dec 27 2013. My medical was completed by the 6th of Jan and my CIC application confirms that they have received it.

It has now been nearly 3 months since I paid my RPRF and about 2 months 3 weeks since my medical.

I sent an email to CiC who never respond to my queries but this time they responded within in 12 hrs (as opposed to 20 working days)! They said "Your application is in process in Ottawa where it is currently being reviewed by an officer. No further action is required by you at this time. An immigration officer will be in contact with you if any further correspondence is needed. We thank you for your patience and for keeping your correspondence to a minimum."

Question 1. : How much longer can this take?
Question 2 : What is the next step?
Question 3: I hear they request your passport. Would i have to send this to the canadian embassy in Pakistan or will i courier it to Canada?
Question 3: How much time does the above process (question 2/3) take?

I was planning on going on a vacation in May to Thailand but ill have to cancel if my PR doesn't come in time. Ill have to apply for a study permit for graduate studies and the processing time for that is 11 weeks in Pakistan :( - Immigration doesn't give your passport back if you need to travel

A1. I had received my RPRF on 19th Nov 2013 and just got the PPR on 14 March 2014 . I live in Canada but my wife is in Pakistan. One of my friend (same scenario) also had to wait four months to get the passport request after RPRF.
A2/3. You will get the passport request through email. I sent my passport to Ottawa and I replied to the email asking them to advise me how to send my wife's passport ( It is not allowed to mail your Pakistani passport out of country by law) They replied back asking me to send my wife's passport to Islamabad embassy , with instructions. They additionally asked for 2 photographs and bio data form. This will all be defined in the email.
A4. It took my friend a month to get the passport back from ISL embassy

As sombody else pointed out, you can apply for GCMS notes but I am not sure if they will be very helpful . They will most likely say "Security - in progress" and everything else completed. It takes a month to get a reply on the notes.

Any new requests?

I have submitted the additional documents requested about my employer first week of February and haven't heard anything since.

I am also an april applicant and in same situation like you. I received request for Hong Kong PCC last week and I submit an application for PCC on 24th March . I will have to wait for 4 weeks for the HK Police to send my PCC to CPC. So still a long wait.
