I am an April applicant and as of today I am a permanent resident of Canada.
I'd like to share my timeline and experience with those who are still hanging and waiting for any feedback from cic.
NOC category: B
Application filed: April 15
Medical request: October 12
Medicals done: October 16
RPRF/Biodata request: January 16
Passport requested: March 14
CoPR received: March 18
Landed: April 2; Rainbow bridge; Niagara Falls
I went to the US in the morning with my friend ( he is Canadian citizen). American border was empty. As purpose of the visit - I said that we are going shopping for a few hours; then after lunch we are planning to return to Canada and land as a PR. I quickly renewed my I-94 slip and drove to one of the malls.
Few hours later (at about 2-3 pm) we crossed the Canadian border. There was a toll-fee of $3.25 CAD. My friend is an E-Z pass holder but unfortunately it works for American toll-booths only. So we had to search our pockets for the exact change. Luckily I had the coins and there was no problem. After we handed our passports in I stated the magical phrase I AM HERE TO LAND AS A PR. Then the officer gave us a yellow slip and instructed to make a sharp left turn and enter the building.
Inside the building there were about 3 families doing landing and some other stuff. I was waiting for approximately 7-8 minutes until I heard my name being called out loud. I came to CBSA officer ( nice lady with positive attitude) and gave her my CoPR letter; work permit. First question she asked was UNDER WHICH IMMIGRATION CATHEGORY YOU APPLIED. I got stuck lol. It was the moment when i forgot everything. Even my name I anxiously started running names of immigration programs in my head. Well; good for me I came up with an answer in 2 seconds. But Jeez in that very moment I felt numb; speechless and I was mumbling. Smart lady just smiled at me and continued working with my papers. She quickly verified my mailing address and asked to be seated while she'd perform a security check or something like that. It took 7-8 min as well. Then she asked me to confirm details from CoPR letter and that was it. I received bunch of instructions on SIN renewal; OHIP application , etc and final congratulations for becoming PR.
After that I had a lovely dinner with my friend. I think I'm still in shock and don't really understand what's happened. I have been living in Canada for almost 4 years waiting and hoping to get the card one day.
I wish everybody a lot of patience in that journey leading to happy Canadian life! That ONE day will come!!!
Google luck, everyone!

work permit too, because Canadian Boarder Agent will take it away from you as based on your client ID will cancel (terminate) all your temporary documents with CIC.Nasser558 said:Guys do I need to take my work permit to exit the border or just the copr and the passport
