It was fast and not very exciting haha! We decided to cross the border as well and go for lunch (after waiting over 2 hours in line at the border...). When we came back the wait was much better. I was asked to go inside and I walked right up to the counter. Told the lady that I am there to land as a Permanent Resident and handed over my passport (with BOWP attached) and both copies of the COPR. She asked me a few questions (single vs married, dependents etc) and I signed both copies. Then I had to wait for about 5 minutes and when she called my name she handed me a small Canadian flag and gave me the run down on what follows next (SIN renewal, update MSP) and my rights as a PR.

One thing she told me I was not aware of - she said that, until I receive my PR card in the mail, I can't travel outside of the country by air because the officers at the airport won't accept the COPR as proof. Apparently crossing the border by car is ok.

Can't believe it's all finished now!

Haha LCM21, I also did landing on Feb 8 but in Alberta. We have exactly the same timeline :)
Luckily you posted your landing experience here, because I didn't understand what the officer said at the border office. The guy had a strong redneck accent. I just understood to write down my current address and telephone number.
So guys, please confirm me, will the PR card arrive in mail after landing? we don't need to do anything else to apply for it,right?

Hi guys need your help..i just received an email now from cic they are asking to fill up a background declaration form...

If the form requires a signature I would probably scan it and email the scan to CIC and mail the original document as well.
If the form doesn't require a signature I would email it.

Hi bluelagoon! As far as I know it will indeed be mailed to our address in about 2 months. :-) Congrats on your landing!

I had the ECAS updated as "Meds done" on Tuesday and I hope to get PR before May 18th, because that is when my visa expires...

Wait, i just checked now and it says decision made...

Could there be something wrong if it goes from "Medical results received" to "decision made" without more steps involved? Could they have just went to "decision made" because it was rejected...?

Hey, thank you for your input. I actually have, they said that all medicals will be sent within a week. I'm gonna wait to get my GCMS note and see if I can get any insight there, before contacting CIC.

Sorry for late reply,
Don't wait for GCMS notes as it takes a month to show up in your email. I agree with Mirnaja email cic and find out what's going on they probably will reply in a mate of week or early if you are lucky. If your medical gets lost and doesn't reach in time frame then you will be in trouble :o.

Don't worry everything will be positive and soon you will see an email in your inbox for PPR or if u r from visa exempt country then u'll see COPR in mail in a week to 10 days.

Hey friends,

Tomorrow I am going to land at rainbow bridge 8) ... Feeling excited.

Do I need to bring anything else then COPR, work permit and passport?
