Hey everyone!
So I just got an email from CIC asking me to give them an employment letter showing that I will remain with my employer for a "precise period of time". What should I say? I'm employed indefinitely by them?

Here is what the email say (it's in French):

"SVP procurez l`information additionnelle concernant la companie où vous travaillez, la liste de vos tâches.

Attestation d'emploi: Document officiel produit avec en-tête de l'entreprise affirmant que vous travaillerez au Canada pendant une période précise pour ladite entreprise et indiquant votre nom, les détails de votre emploi au Canada et les coordonnées complètes de l'entreprise. "

Thanks!

I'm curious to why they would request that. Could you type up what your employment letter was? (white out all personal details)

Hey!

I actually don't have it with me, but I think it's because I'm from France and maybe they need to make sure I plan on staying in Ontario?
French people tend to move to Quebec usually

Could be. I find it very unusual that they require future employment expectations... In this case you probably want to get the letter showing that you're working for them indefinitely.

I was actually wondering what your employment experience on the letter was, like how complicated it was for them to calculate your total experience? Was it just a single job with annual pay and fixed hours or do they have to count the hours every week?

I know I was very confused when I received it ahah!
I have been with my employer since August 2011, and work 40 hours a week, so I definitely meet the 1 year experience. I also provided the T4 and NOA which show the total salary.
HR department is issuing the letter stating that I will continue to work there indefinitely upon receiving PR so hopefully it should be good..

Thanks a lot and happy holidays :)

Hello everyone,

I just received "Ready for Visa" letter from CIC and they requested my Passport, RPRF and Bio-data. In the RPRF section it says how I have to pay $490.00 and I should follow attached instructions to pay the fees but there's nothing else attached with my email other than an image of my biodata form. Am I missing something in the email or I should just pay the fees online and email CIC the payment receipt. Anyone?

From RPRF email:

We wish to remind you at this time that your Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) is outstanding. You must pay this fee before a permanent resident visa can be issued. The RPRF will be refunded if the application is refused, if you withdraw your application or if you choose not to use your visa.

If you delay the payment of the RPRF, your security or medical results may expire, which would delay the issuance of your visas. We therefore encourage you to pay the RPRF as soon as possible, by following these steps:

· Go to the website: https://eservices.cic.gc.ca/epay/welcome.do?lang=en

· Read the instructions on each page, and click “Continue” to proceed

· Select the “Immigration” link, followed by “Right of Permanent Residence Fee”

· You must pay this fee once for yourself as principal applicant

· You must also pay this fee for your accompanying spouse or common law partner, if you have one

· Enter the number of fee payments (1 or 2) in the box beside the fee of $490

· Click “Submit”

· Proceed to pay your fees by selecting “Pay” and then follow the instructions to pay with a credit card.

Once the payment process is complete, the web site will display your official receipt in PDF format.
You must send the receipt to CPP-O. For fastest service, please attach it to an email and send it to the address CPPO-Cost-Recovery@cic.gc.ca .
