April 2013 Applications

I have posted my application on 13th April 2013 through Canada Post and it is still in transit. Do anyone of you know how long would it take to reach Sydney, NS? I have posted it as a Regular Mail (Registered).

After posting it, I moved back to India on 15th April 2013. Could you guys help regarding the information that needs to be updated with CIC once it is received at the Nova Scotia office?

You do not need to update CIC with any information. You have already done your job by mailing your application. Now just sit and relax for the AOR

Hi kprs_ind , For my App Canada post took 6 days to deliver and delivery info updated only after 7 days,
Don't worry your post will reach there.

Now i am waiting for postage refund from Canada post for the delay.

As far as I know you don't need to update anything in CIC website after application received in nova scotia

Hello everyone! I just send my application today via canada post (express post).
So I guess IM in the April's group..
Silly quest for those who send their application thru canadapost, did you guys put it in another envelope or they just put a sticker on your envelope?

CIC asks to put the application into a 23 cm x 30.5 cm envelope. so besides the courier envelope, all ur paper should be in another seperate envelope...

I will be applying for CEC in May 2013. Presently I am in Canada and will be moving back to India in June/July 2013.

My concerns are:
1. Should I apply from Canada or India ?
2. Is it good to give VO as New Delhi ?
3. If I apply from Canada and then update my Indian residence ,will my application be transferred to New Delhi?
4. My main concern is if I am in India and required passport stamping ,no way we can send passport through mail/courier as its illegal.
5. Sending through anyone is also remote possibility for me.

ALL CEC applications submit to Centralized Intake Office in Sydney NS Canada. The office will transfer your appliocation to wherever it should be. read the guide carefully http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5609ETOC.asp Come to Canada again in the last stage if they ask you to submit ur passport.

Presently I see only option to come down to canada when passport requested.

Just mailed my applications today and then realized after looking into the posts that you should put your docs in another envelope aside the courier envelope . Damn it!! Also I read someone saying that you should put the barcodes first and then document checklist. I put my documents checklist first and then barcodes followed by supporting forms and documents. Hopefully they don't send it back for these reasons

don't worry. im sure they will give you an envelope. that bar code pages are not put in the top of the whole application but top of IMM0008 form only. So for IMM0008 form it should be Page 6, 5, 1, 2, 3, 4. Even you put it wrong, they won't return it to you. But one useful thing is always place the payment receipt on the first, even before the checklist. CIC officer will find your payment firstly before they take any further action.

yeah thats what Im asking to the lady from the canada post.. coz she just put sticker on my 23cm x 30.5 cm envelope..
Im telling her that maybe i she should put my envelope to their express post envelope,but she insist just to put sticker on it//
Do I get in trouble there? I have the tracking # though

no no no, use your 23cm x 30.5 cm envelope is fine. even you use a courier envelope, they will throw it away after they receive the application.
