Im gonna have to disagree with this. If you have been living anywhere longer than six months you have to provide a statement from the RCMP regarding your criminal record, whether it is completely clean or not, by getting finger prints done. I myself had to do it and another poster I know of also.

No doubt with a criminal record there will be some issues. But if you have lived in Canada without any criminal record they dont require the PC from Canada to include with your application.

Congradulation. Now the longer wait begins for all of us, but its a great feeling to pass Stage 1. Best wishes the rest of the way.

Yes, but I don't have a criminal record and have been in canada longer than six months. I am the one whos being sponsored and had to provide a RCMP check or whatever you want to call it. Because how would they know if I don't have a criminal record if I don't submit those papers? I am sure immigration can check themselves but it is probably easier for us to go through all the trouble of doing it lol. Also, they probably double check it anyways !

Generally how much time it takes for stataus to be updated on Ecas after transferring of file to home country?
My wife's file was transferred to New Delhi on April 23rd. Ecas still shows application received on April 4th ( April 4th is the date when file was received at Missisauga office ).

Did you send it right away or they asked for it later?

I sent it in with my application. Basically I got my electronic fingerprints done, they send it to the RCMP and I got a letter in the mail within two weeks. And you send the original along with your application.

If you are not 110% sure about what to do, call a couple consultants !
I paid for mine and he basically did everything for me, but I know a lot of them will give u a bit of advice over the phone or even a free hour visit. Just make sure you go to a reputable one!

What is an SA and an AOR? AOR I'm guessing is the email I got saying they received my application.
