I am confused coz all sponsors already have UCI, yet i find ppl asking on forum to call CIC agents to ask for UCI so that they can access the file on E-cas.
Canadian born citizens do not already have a UCI.

Hey guys

Congrats to everyone who has been approved and patience to those who havent. My husband is sponsoring our application, we are approved, thank God!!! my question is, im not living in my home country now, but however i requested the application to be sent to my home country. I gave my email adress, my actual home adress (outside my home country) and my actual cell phone number (not my home country numbers). Will the visa office contact me on my international phone number? or will they mail me to my international home adress? thanks for replying guys.

Congrats! now off to London! :-) see you there!

Sponsors who have never dealt with CIC before, they don't have an existing UCI. One is created for them after the application is opened and processing begins.

I've just spoken to a somewhat abrasive agent on the phone, as I am angry and confused about the lack of contact following an AOR eight days ago.

The agent stated that I should expect to allow up to ELEVEN MONTHS for an answer on sponsorship (stage 1) approval. What on earth is this about?

It sounds like the agent confused outland with inland times?!! If I were you, I'd call back again and try for someone more helpful. So sorry you're having such a hard time with this, misskay =(

misskay....try again...but my AOR came on the 14th and did not receive my approval till the 25th even though letter was dated the 20th.....so more than likely your approval is in the mail.......can you log on to ecas and see if decision made under sponsor??

misskay, have you tried eCAS? Maybe it's working after 8 days. I know it's frustrating. Hang in there. You'll get your answer soon!

The agent stated that the case is still in process and a decision has not yet been made. Ecas reflects this ("in process"). Again, my sponsor has no criminal record and does not receive government assistance etc. Should be fairly straightforward!

You don't need to stress out about 8 days. In January several took up to a month. You are fine.

In our case, eCAS updated to DM a few days after the actual decision. Don't worry, you'll get it soon. Every day of waiting passes really slow, I know. Hopefully you'll hear something very soon. 8 days still isn't out of ordinary, really. And just ignore the agent's 11 months response!
