Very lucky people get AOR ;D

So technically you are suppose to get AOR right away?

Technically you should receive it same day your mail is delivered in Mississauga but never happens in real life !

Current update at cic.gc.ca

82 days

(working on applications received on February 1, 2012)

That update was from last week, but still good news seeing how the processing time has been reduced from 88 to 82.

The next update will be on May 2....hopefully....but I predict this week's update will show the processing time back down to 75 days and working on applications received on February 7-10.

Let's hope things speed up!!

Nice prediction! ;D I concur.

I suspect their actually working hard to catch up. I'm sure they are aware of peoples frustration. The slating they got on here wont have been missed either. There are supposed to be some VIP's on here, immigration consultants, immigration officers etc!!!

I'm not sure about the VIPs or immigration officers being active members of this forum, but aside from that, I am sure CIC-M has received hundreds of calls to their call centre with many complaining about the spike in sponsorship approval times.

Some have said it's because of the parents and grandparents. What they should do is stop processing all other family class sponsorships until the main one, us (spousal) are back on track with normal processing times of 30 days. Actually, it shouldn't take so long to approve the sponsors, as they have the eligibility criteria to go by, so if you meet that, bang, approved...next!

It should be done like the soup Nazi from Seinfeld... :P

Anyway, for us, the April applicants, we should hear news by the end of June or early part of July for those who applied near the beginning to middle of April...others who applied a bit later should hear something by the 3rd week of July.

We are all crossing our fingers and toes hoping CIC speeds things up! January really put a wrench in the works...

I think processing time will go further down to 55 days or so by the time they will start opening april applications. So hopefully all April applicants will see the approvals by no later than end of June....well I am hoping!!

Amen to that Fencesitter!!
So come on CIC, its TUESDAY. Lets have some good news. :P

Hoping for some good news!

Here's a question that hopefully someone here can help me with. We mailed in our application on April 25th, and it was delivered on April 27th (according to the tracking on Canada post). Is there any way to check with the CIC that they have recieved the application, or is that only when they start looking at the April applicants that we'll be able to check the status online?

The only way you know that CIC received your app is with the tracking # you got from Canada Post. Apparently Mississauga isn't much into sending AOR's (acknowledgement of receipt). After sponsorship approval, it looks like most people get an AOR once their app is forwarded to their visa office. That is also the time when you'll be able to check the app status online. Until then, it's all up to the imagination :o
