Hello do we really have to wait for another 8 months? One of my colleague's wife received pp request exactly after 3 months. What I think if case is simple and genuine the applicant will be asked to submit pp very soon.
What is the present situation in New Delhi?

Isn't ND VO one that requests PP and holds it thru the process?

saw this in another post and when i read yours it reminded me i had read it...

well is it a passport request or is it saying something like "In order to expedite the processing of your application, we are requesting that you provide the
following as soon as possible"

"Please note that a request for your passport(s) at this time is not a guarantee of visa
issuance. Passports are requested so that we can hold them on your file and issue your
visas as soon as possible after all requirements have been met."


Usually if there is no deadline set then i think you dont HAVE to send it immediately. But you should be ready to send it soon and this will obviously delay the process by a little as they will ask for the passport again when they are ready.

My ecas has been updated to "In Process" and "Medicals Received", but still no word. Surely this means I will be hearing soon though, right?

Looks like another long, nervous (and very hot) weekend here.

Yep you won't get much notice. It depends when your visa will expire but the end is kinda nuts! It's exciting though.

I've signed a new contract for 2012-2013 (September to September). My company will renew my visa for that period. I didn't mention this, aside from saying I cannot resign until I know what's going on with my wife's visa, as I am the only one with an income and we want to continue saving while we wait. I went on to say that my contract has an early release clause, so no big deal resigning. I hope this won't lead them to think I am staying in China. The intent to return to Canada is quite strong, and I provided a lot of evidence. Hopefully the visa officer will be realistic and understanding.

It still feels surreal. The crazy part is that only two of us got approved yesterday, and I was one of them. Never thought that would happen!! I was preparing for next week...

I wonder how the HK visa office is about sending an AOR? Anyone know if they are consistent?

Hi Newlywed!! Firstly, congratulations!!! YAY!! I see from the spreadsheet you're in Seoul. Me too. I was just wondering if you got your approval via mail or email? We didn't put an email on the forms (which in hindsight was not wise and we wanna change that but have no idea how) so we're thinkin it'll take longer for us as it's gotta come by mail and I dunno how fast things go from Canada to here! Thanks so much and I hope you're having an awesome weekend (despite all the rain!!)!

That's awesome FS! Man, you're good! If you please, pick an approval date for mine? App was received May 25th. Shoot for accuracy, don't worry about my feelings eh!

End of July or first week of August! That's my guess...but who knows, right? CIC seems to be all over the map! But for sure it looks like they are reducing the stage 1 processing time, so it might be very fast for you guys in May!

Although I'm glad to see that the medicals have been received, it just seems incredibly strange that this information has been updated in ecas before my sponsor has even been approved for stage 1. But then I suppose, as Fencesitter says, nothing about CIC or their processes makes much sense or follows much logic!

If you have a way to call them maybe you should, because they are working past the date they received your application, and so they should be able to tell you over the phone... maybe they sent you a letter and it takes time to arrive but in any case - they should be able to tell you on the phone. By the look of things, you have been approved already, as your ecas is updated, but it would be much better to hear it from CIC directly of course...

You probably won't need to call on Monday...that will most probably be the day you get your approval...and if not, then for sure they have sent you snail mail and you should call to confirm (confirm!) your approval!

Next week is going to be a very busy week for us Aprilicants!

Dear Subaru, has anyone got pp request after two weeks of first stage? It is a good news. pls post me the link if someone has got.
So why the website says from New Delhi it will take 8 months? Once they issue the visa I guess it will valid until Mrach 2013. Because she did medical in March, 2012. Pls confirm.

FS...yes...the date on the approval is the transfer date of the file
