Guys!!! I just came home from dinner to find a nice little AOR email from Mississauga!

Congrats sunshine! ! ! And ohhh btw, thank you for updating the spreadsheet ! ! !

Can anyone give me the phone number to call please? I posted my spousal sponsorship application to CPC-Miississauga on 5th of April and they received on 6th of April,2012.

I am also confused between AOR, UCI number and receipt number. Please clarify does CIC provide AOR or UCI or file number? What is the receipt number? Is this Canada post tracking number?

hey Canada Enquiry,

I think there is no point to call until the date on the website is after the 6th of April, they won't tell you anything, so I suggest waiting a little longer. I don't know the numbers but others can tell you!
AOR is acknowledgement of receipt, that's when they open your file, but not everybody get one.... UCI and file number are provided by CIC when they either open your file ( when they send you an AOR) or when you get the approval (mail or post). Receipt number is the one that is on your payment receipt for the fees, but until they open your file, it doesn't work... so a bit useless at that point...
Post tracking number is for yourself to know when your file has been received ( which you already do) but CIC has nothing to do with that and will not use it.

FS, the email came from Mississauga.. I thought for sure it would have come from Ottawa, but I guess CIC-M has straighten themselves out a little better this month. The email was from Do Not Reply - Ne Pas Repondre Client-update-mise-a-jour @ cic.gc.ca and it came in my inbox, not junk like I was expecting.

If they continue with the 93 day accuracy, there should be lots of movement next week! I'm so excited for us! You should be next Rosie! I seriously checked my email every 10 minutes yesterday, I was driving myself crazy so I left to do some errands and returned with good news. Don't drive yourself too crazy! At least the tea will help a little

Hopefully there's a few others who hear from CIC before the weekend! At least they are finally (more) accurate on the processing times, since today marked day 93 for me.

And neemann, you'll just need a little patience. Your time will come!

Congratulations Sunshine!!! Now you can rest assured that your file was received! ( you put june 5th on ur profile lol) Trying to make CIC think that your file should be at your VO right now after a months wait? ;D I'm excited that you are receiving AOR's it's torture when you don't know where your file and if they are working on it!

Hi guys, I am new to this fourm couple of quick questions, I applied for my wife in April but haven't recieved any file number yet. Is there any way of checking the status without the file number? I know it takes up to 90 days for them to process the request. Just trying to fimilarize myself with the entire process, once i get the file number does the approval for step1 happen within couple days? Thank you.

HI! When was your package received by CIC in April. Right now not much you can do unless your package was received April 1st or 2nd. If you receive an AOR you will get a UCI# and an Application# and within a few days of receiving your AOR you will be able to log into the website. Just watch for updates on the website and when they are passed the day your application was received you can call them. Till that time they will pretty much telll you to call back later. Hope this helps.

Hey Mandeep2012,

Welcome to the forum! unless you had some previous dealings with CIC ( previous PR, citizenship process etc), you won't have a file number until you get either an AOR or the approval from CIC. once you get that, then your file gets transferred to your VO, and they take over from there - the VO procedures are very different depending on where you are from.
