I changed my address 4 months ago and havn't heard anything, when I sent my passport I sent a copy of the e-mail i sent to Ottawa and included a letter asking them to mail it back to me here... atleast you will have your passport, if they mail it to my American address I have no way of getting across the border to get it LOL

Well I just looked into it a bit and found that it is the same email address to change address and send in my scan so hopefully there will be no confusion. At my US address I do have someone that can Fedex it to me if need be. Sorry to hear it Creampop, with your passport in LA and Ottawa running the show its hard to say if that info will get across. Did you do an address change with Ottawa or LA office? My wife had moved right before she got sponsor approval and tried updating her address on ECAS. It said it should take about 15 days to change but never did. We then tried again about a month after and it changed within 3 days.

No complaints here either! This was way faster than what was expected! Very glad we decided to wait to send in our application, we were originally going to send in at the end of 2011. Unfortunetly many got stuck in that Buffalo mess and are still waiting.

Just got my PPR email this morning!! My application stayed in Ottawa so they are just requesting a copy or scanned image of my passport info page. I am currently in Canada now with my wife and would like to receive any further correspondence here. Is it ok to change my address to our Canadian address at this time? When I email my passport scan can I notify them about this?

Apparently, the agents can only tell you the info that is in the system. The agent only knew where my file was but not why. He sent an enquiry to the right department and it can take a few weeks for that department to respond to the enquiry.

Did you ever hear anything back about your file ? I seem to be in the same position, our file was approved for sponsorship two months ago and the VO says they have no record of our application, very curious to see what happened with you.

Well, I'm also trying to figure if they got our file in our VO. CIC call center told me she has no idea. Only the VO can confirm. I'm not sure if she actually checked anything. She asked for my UCI number, but didn't confirm anything at all. All she did was to advise me to write to VO and ask them, since only they would know where the file is, which is odd, since our file was in CPC-M to begin with.

I did write the VO a case specific enquiry, the response was the following:

Please note that until our office in Mexico City receives the complete file from CPC- Mississauga we are not able to initiate the processing of this case.
Please check with the Case Processing Centre - Mississauga (CPC- M) in Canada where you have submitted the sponsorship for your family member.


So tomorrow I will call and hopefully get some information

I emailed my scan and change of address earlier today and just received a reply from Ottawa stating this:

Sir/Madam:

The address of you and your spouse have been updated. Allow 15 working days before checking for the change in eCas.

It's nice to have this conformation, especially on the same day. It also surprises me they are working this late at night. I figured 5 pm was quitting time, unless the email was delayed getting to me.

I believe the Manilla VO is a little faster so you may hear earlier. Good luck!

If I ever get my PPR, should I send a self addressed stamped envelope with my PP? I've heard some people do that and they get theirs PP's back faster. Any opinions?

Please purchase two prepaid, 9" x 12" USPS Express Mail or USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation envelopes. Enclose one envelope in the other envelope. Add the passport(s) and documents you wish to send to us. This second envelope will be used to return your passport(s) and any original documents. Complete the mailing label on the return envelope showing your full mailing address in the
"Deliver To" field and the address of the Consulate General of Canada in the “Return Address” field. Make a note of the tracking number for each envelope. Enter a daytime telephone number on the mailing label above the recipient address. If you chose to not provide us with such a return envelope, we will mail your passport(s) and documents via regular mail (US Postal Service First Class Mail). Please note that the visa office in Los Angeles will not return your documents using any courier services.

If your mailing address is in Canada or another country:
Persons currently residing in Canada or another country with applications in our office must not submit a return mail envelope. Ah ok, well LA is supposedly going through final processing of my application. Hopefully they are the ones that request my passport.
