I hope our applications are not flooded :o Do you guys remember this news from 2009 - fast tracking of typhoon victims. http://www.workpermit.com/news/2009-12-12/canada/faster-canadian-immigration-processing-for-typhoon-victims.htm
I think our apps are fine, I've been in the Embassy, nice tall building with a Starbucks :P

I'm a newbie here and this forum is very very helpful.

Me and my hubby (canadian citizen from quebec) are going to start our application but we don't have yet our NSO marriage certificate as we are married only last July. How long could I get an NSO marriage certificate ? And which is better - I have a medical examination before submitting our application ? or I'll wait for the medical requests from Manila Embassy ?

I hope somebody could answer my queries. Thanks in advance. :)

Hi Shekinah!

Regarding about your question I would like to share my experience about on how I got our marriage certificate sooner. Normally you can get it after a year your marriage. One thing you can do to get it sooner is make a request at the NSO office to make a advance endorsement with your Marriage certificate. It'll take 15 days after the advance endorsement at the NSO.

When did you have your medical anyway? In my case I did my medical on month of October ago before we submit our application on December 2011. Its either you make your medical before or the day you will submit your application. The expiration of the Visa will also depend on the medical. Theres no need to wait for the Embassy about the medical unless they ask you to re-do the medical.

I hope this info helps. Goodluck with your application! :)

Thanks Christine08 ! I don't have my medical yet, I was thinking that you need a medical requests from the embassy before having a medical but as others says it's better to have it done before and attached it to our application so I will do it while waiting for our NSO marriage cert and AOM. (as it is flooding and no work for gov't offices I think I get an electronic endorsement of my NSO marriage cert. nextweek.) This forum is very helpful ! :-*

Hi Shekinah:)

We are in the same case my hubby is also a canadian from Quebec I did my medical before submitting our application and for the NSO certificate Christine was right I got mine after two weeks. By the way for your advance info since our sponsors are from Quebec we need to have another application for provincial after receiving a sponsorship approval but that will come later for now we just need to be approved by the federal first.
