Do you get an official AOR letter or is the ECAS update the AOR everyone gets?

Every visa office has its own policy regarding the AOR.. The New Delhi office does nt send AOR.. I am not sure whether Buffalo sends one..

Yes, I know they do but really no agency can pull your credit history without your SSN.
Its Mandatory to have SSN for any agency to pull credit history.

That's incorrect. It depends very much on the country. In Japan there is no tax number and no such thing as a credit check.

In Canada they only need your home address and your name. I learned this recently when a car rental shop sold my drivers license details and someone used my details to sign up for a couple of smartphones. Immediately went to the credit bureau agencies and guess what: there's the mobile phone company checking up on me with nothing more than my d/l.

thx mate i was also told this thing by my friend n he told me a story tht one of his known took loan in scotland n came back to india then moved to other country without paying back n during his background check there was no problem(is it possible?).............but had sm doubt in mind thx for it.

Your friend should beware that there is a good deal of exchange of information between the authorities and the banks between the US/UK/Canada/etc. That's a story that's quite likely to catch up with him. I have an Irish buddy whose brother nicked a box of chocolates in the early 80's as a teen. That turned up on his record when trying to fly into the US a few years after 9/11; he was denied entry. The system doesn't forget.

I sent it on 15th, it supposes to arrive on 16th.
Hopefully we all can get the visa within a month!!

Did you send it to Vegreville or Mississauga? If Mississauga, I think you should have heard something by now.

If you have the receipt number, you can check e-cas.

yeh my friend tht right its same in uk too but u know they don need us to b financially strong or having good cr history bcoz we r not going on skilled base or any bussiness catogery where we have to prove tht v ll suport ourself . our spouse will support us financially if needed n as sophiaman told if we havent done any crime n get pcc thing r good having bad cr history or debts pending is not a crime n there is no prisonment in eourpe us or canada for it n the case ur telling tht abt theft n thts counted as crime n has punishment for it..................thts wht i think not sure whts right.

Your DL number has your entire information including SSN/SIN so yeah with DL number everything can be pulled off.

Hmm. It would be interesting to hear from some of the site's pros about that. I suspect that finances are a significant part of the review these days.
