Can someone please tell me whether ECAS turns Permanent Residence Application Status into "In Process/Progress" from "Not Available" before sending out the Passport request letter?

The Sponsorship was approved long ago on 19-May-2011. However the Permanent Residence Application Status is still "Not Available" for my application. I wonder whether others have come across the same question/situation?

Hello there. I am also having the same issue. I am from punjab and sponsorship was approved on may 13th and file was transferred on the same day but on the ecas status its says not available under PR application status.
please keep in touch so that we can figured out this stuff and inform each other.

No such thing as a dumb question! If you need to know, you ask, that's how you get an answer, right?

hey sophiaman n cool monkey dont worry buddy dont worry abt ur ecase update i m sure ur application is with ND they received mine after 8 days n it happened with many people tht ecase was NA and they received ppr n then it changed to in process or some guys status changed to decision made direct so there is no proper procedure or precdiction abt how ND work n update the ecase but guys pray we all receive ppr v soon as ND is bz with student visa this month i pray it wudnt effect our cases n we receive ppr this week.......................me n sophiaman r frm punjab so ppr wud b cming to punab n jimiya2me is himachal pradesh where ru frm cool monkey imean where is ur ppr going.........hey guys plz keep sharing the things with each other..n pray

Thanks man so much for this valuable information. I am praying hard that we all receive PPR soon and we get visa soon and we can unite with our lifepartner next month.

My PPR will be going out to Bangalore. But I think the post takes more or less the same amount of time to reach any part of the country. I wish they just email the PPR, that way they could save a lot of time for us and also for themselves. Besides, the post could get lost...

This is such a selfish question; but I hope for those who have their files forwarded to their assigned VO won't be affected much by this.

I don't think they use Canada Post to send it to the VO. They must use some kind of internal mail (diplomatic or such).
Maybe that's why it takes so long sometimes for the application to get processed?

guys dont worry my dad works for the CUPW and he said as of right now it is going to be rolling strike so mail will still be delivered it is just going to take a little bit longer then usual. i will keep you all posted on the strike but i dont think that they use canada post to mail to the VO. like a lot of businesses they probably use DHL to send out their stuff

Did you receive an AOR or something from Buenos Aires? Im wondering if they send one or no...? Since you are almost a month before me i guess youll be the first to know!

And yes.. makes sense about internal mail or something.. but im also dealing with MICC so who knows..

After a week of not checking the ecas, my husband did it for me and it states under Permanent Residence Application column:

Application Received

We received MIGA-QUATCHI's application for permanent residence on May 20, 2011.
