Hi Everyone...
I applied for FSW under Arranged Employment Category on April 30.

I was going through the copies of the forms/documents I sent to Sydney and I noticed an error in my Employment Letter. The letter was dated "28-april-09" instead of "28-april-10". It slipped my attention when I received the letter because I was soo preoccupied with everything else in the application.

I joined this company on April 15, 2009. So, I'm afraid that the immigration officers will come to a conclusion that I've only been employed for 13 days?

I am still working with this company and this is the only experience I have in 0, A, B categories. If this doesn't get accounted for, I would be ineligible because I would have insufficient work experience.

Is there a way I can send my corrected employment letter to the CIO now? Or is it too late? I'm in PANIC mode right now!!

Hi Sraheem,

You did not have to send the Employment reference letters to CIO. That was not in the checklist.

However, you are ok as at CIO they do not check Reference letters. Acquire a recent reference letter and check the date etc. When you send full documents to your Visa office, then attach this Recent reference letter. In your cover letter mention the mistake and say that the corrected letter has been attached.

You will be fine.

Sorry about my last post... ignore it.

I am assuming that you have not yet recd your AOR. Send the corrected version and mention about the mistake in a cover letter and send it to CIO. Hopefully they have not yet started processing your application. Call the CIO and get your Client ID so that you can mention that in your cover letter. Did you have to send a copy of your work permit with your documents... does that mention the right date?

Since I'm already in Canada, I think I already have a client ID from my study/work permits. Is it the 8 digit number separated by a hyphen "-"?

Does the CIO accept additions/modifications in our file at this stage?? Is there any thing else I need to know?

Hi Dear,

You don't have any other option at this point... send the corrected document with clarification. Send it by courier with tracking to reach them fast.

Yes, by what you mentioned, you do have a client ID. How about giving them a call tomorrow morning... maybe they can

1. tell you if the application is under process
2. How to get around this problem in a more specific manner....maybe they would want some ID to be written on the envelope or something. I don't recommend advertising Client ID.

Hi Smile,

This is my logic and opinion. If you can make a call to your respective visa office that would be great.

This 'saving' belongs to your husband. Now we have to prove that he can withdraw this money as and when he requires and there is no liability attached to it.

1. Can this association provide a letter to mention that the XX amount of money in the account belongs to your husband saved from his earnings and is free from any liability like loans etc?
2. Also the letter should mention that your husband can withdraw the money once he resigns/retire from the company. If yes, then get the letter on Company pad.
3. Attach this evidence with you full documents and mention in your cover letter that he plans to resign when his application for PR is approved and then he will avail the XX amount of money. Convert the amount in the savings account in Canadian dollars for easy analysis by VO. Also mention that you did the conversion with the help of currency converter on the CIC website on XX date.

There is indeed a currency converter for this purpose.
4. Lastly, your POF will be checked at port of entry and hopefully you will be able to withdraw the money from the Association or have saved enough by then.

Caution: When you indeed withdraw your money from the association then there will be a deposit of a large amount of money in your account. Be prepared with all the documents to prove that the money is yours and how it was deposited in your account.

This is just my opinion.... I have no evidence that this could work.

Yeah! That is a good idea. I hope I can make a call and ask. I better research first the number of the Manila visa office. Thanks a lot.

I was thinking of making an affidavit for the person who signed the Certification. The affidavit perhaps will state those that you have mentioned (ie, nature of the funds, withdrawable after retirement, resignation, etc). Do you think that will do?

As to bringing it in the port of entry, I think we will be able to actually bring bigger funds than we declared because we shall be selling vehicles and hopefully our house once we get the visa. Good thing that you mentioned that I need to show an explanation on that. Thanks.

In Birth Certificate my wife name last character is different than what they wrote in all documents like how we can write AHMAD and some wrote AHMED.is there any problem or i better correct ?

Hi Jammy,

1. Translate your Nikahnamma and birth certificate by a certified Translator. Certified would mean that he has the legal rights and to translate documents.
2. Notarize the translated documents. (Why do you have to go to Pakistan to Notarize the doc. It can be done in Kuwait by a NOtary Public)
3. No need to attest the Notarised doc because a Notarised doc will already be legal.
4. For the different names for you wife... Get an Affidavit done at court which would mention that " xx AHMAD and xx AHMED are one and the same person". Add additional information in the Affidavit like the passport # and DOB, wife of XX etc.

how about kids.my kids birth certificate issued from Kuwait.it sin arabic.i will do translation and notarize it but for me as i am going to collect PCC its better to do translation stuff from there and notarize.

Hi Jamy,

1. For your kids, get the Birth certificates translated and Notarised from Kuwait. Just to be on the safe side.....you never know if the Pakistani Translator might deny to Translate and/or Notarize.
2. Why would they not accept your expalnation for Correction of spelling? It is a valid reason. Does the spelling have to do anything with your family name? What is the name in her passport? Is the name on passport correct ... if it is then you have another reason to prove your point.
