one question ----- My NOC CODE IS 0213 and subcode is 2147 ( Network Engineer ) and i wrote Subcode 2147 in the application form , is it any effect on my application ..??????

Not exactly sure about this as your NOC is 0213 you should have put 0213 instead of subclass 2147, i think you should be ok, but i have seen some applications which were return because of wrong NOC i hope your doesnt return.

Dear Mates,

I HAVE HEARD SOME OF THE APRIL 2010 APPLICANTS HAS SIMILAR ISSUES AND CONTACTED CIO CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I have submitted my application under FSW3 in May. CIO recieved my application on 11th May and i am yet to recieve my first AOR. However, i had chosen to pay with one of my credit card that got blocked yesterday due to some irregular activities which i had to claim as unauthorised. So the bank has the card cancelled now and sending me a new one within a week.

Now, as far i know from this forum, the candidates whose application were recieved on around 16th-22nd April - currently undergoing CC Charges. Mine then should be within 15-20 days time. Now i am really worried with all the changes that has recently took placed. CIO seems to be much strciter nowadays. I have read on several cases that, if a CC is declined/invalid, then they give 30 days time frame to resubmit the information. But since i already know atleast 2-3 weeks before the probable charge date, can i not update the information anyhow??

Please mates, help me out here. I do not want to wait till i get a letter from them asking for new informatin.

How can i work it out??? Thanks for your inputs in advance!!!

I had a collegue who applied under 2147 and was rejected as this does not come under any required skill class..

I read both the stories posted here and although one led to a successful end of the struggle, we can not deny the fact that there is still a lot of hardship involved for new immigrants.
But what I believe from my limited experience in Canada that the problem arises from Canada's disregard for international qualifications and experience. This is even more shocking because Canada's own standards for education are not at all superior to those in any other country.
Canada slowly needs to get rid of these ridiculous regulations and licensing practices.
They can also start by making the Canadian required certifications exams available globally and clearly chalk out rules to make those certification mandatory before immigration (if at all they keep insisting on those.) This will at least reduce the burden on new immigrants to manage for their daily bread and butter and do the required certifications simultaneously.
During my stay there I had met a very senior person who had a Ph.D in Mathematics from India and he was not able to secure a teaching position in Canada and was working in a wal-mart store. Now I fail to understand how rules and theories of Mathematics change from India to Canada.

All in all its high time for Canada to understand that geography doesn't change the principles of any fundamental subject and make the changes accordingly.

CIC can take the first step towards this by highlighting the shortlisted NOCs for which the jobs in Canada are regularized i.e. for those jobs require a license. Currently they just have a declaration saying some jobs in Canada are regularized and as such require a license from the respective regulatory authority.
They can also make the links to those licensing requirement available from their website. So that people considering immigration under those NOCs can make a informed decision.
Today all this information is available on different websites and is scattered, and I think it would benefit to have it collated in one place.

Canada overall needs to understand that their practice of these regulation and licensing was ok when they were letting virtually each and everyone who applied in Canada as was the case till late 90's. But things have changed a lot since and the people that are coming to Canada are highly skilled professionals. Most of these new comers have a comfortable life back home as well and come to Canada because of factors other than money. Most of them are frustrated because of the general high standards of living they expect in their home countries and dont get, as someone mentioning bad roads, electricity, corruption etc. etc. But if they have to go through such hardship just to get to a position where they were in their home countries puts a question mark on the whole process itself.
It is also expected of the Canadian government that the general expectations of the skilled immigrants like getting a job in their own field of specialization are fulfilled as it is in the best interest of their own country and the countless number of individuals who have come there to shape its future.

hi saki and everyone here,

I was pondering about my situation and now I'm getting more confuse.
As you can see, my application was received last April 15.. hope to receive AOR soon.
My problem is my IELTS..I send a copy to CIO (but I don't think that's a requirement yet at this time.)
It's been 1 year last May, some forumers says its ok because the lock time period is April. I even asked a consultancy and some people, and they say its ok as long as my score is high (I got a total band score of 7) So i didn't think about it much before, but now with the new rules and everything, I'm confuse and anxious again. Do you think I shoud sit for the IELTS again?
Please enlighten me.. thanks.

Hello everyone,

I have just called CIC call center to follow up my second application, the agent informed me that it has entered into the system on 29 June and gave me my client ID number, i checked it via the phone service IVR , after i entered it , i was asked to enter my year of birth, then i heared a message saying that my application has been recieved on 16 April (15 April as per fedex confirmation), but when i tried to check it using CIC website it didnt match !! , anyhow the website message said that they give information only about applcation that their processing has started and not just recieved.

Do you know anyone who got his Client ID number and could not check it online?

anyhow it is good sign that my application has been entered into the system , now i am waiting for the initial decsion , hopefully it will be the AOR

I have tried again to check my status via CIC website using my given client ID but still no mtach, phone service IVR give message that my application recieved on 16April, do you think that anything wrong or it is normal since the processing of the case has not started yet ?

Thanx Mitali.. you understood awl the meanings i wanted to inject in those member's minds who are un aware of failures out there, they have to be cautious but I m sorry, only U and youkon got the point of posting the stories.. thanx to youkon tooo..........
