they rarely give interviews here. as per the spreadsheet, most of the applicant's interview were waived. they only give it for those who have red flags. the girl i met that i was talking about in my first post has 2 grown up sons.maybe the vo thinks it was just marriage for convenience.

Ha - we married after 5 months too! I proposed to him...:)

Just in case he was being interviewed because we did not give enough evidence in application, we had taken actual pictures of the Skype and FB messages, which showed the dates...we prepared a big binder full of additional proof, from day 1 to current of ongoing relationship, for VO. She did not even look at it. However, we do not regret doing that because u just never know....So I would suggest u do the same - it is better to be safe than sorry!

Keep us posted and Good luck!!

Hello members,
Am happy to land on this link and what i have read here is almost similar to my case. In fact i did not explain alot in my application, we were only writing one or two sentences and now i can see why they had to call for interview.

Am due for interview late October and i feel abit scared due to some issues that iam aware of in my application. Our marriage is genuine and we are married happy waiting to be together soon if God allows. I have read so many think on this forum that i ended reflecting on our applications.
Briefly, we have age difference of 16years my husband older, he is divorced 1 child, i have never been married before but i have 2 children from 2 difference relationship (i was a single mother before marrying my husband), we met online and got married after 5months, we come from different countries both in East Africa, he visited my country for few days and later we went to his country, at our Civil marriage i had only 2 friends who attended but most of his relatives/friends were there at our marriage and reception.
However, i have prints of our all our chats of the dating site, many emails, western union receipts, many photos of our relationship, marriage & honeymoon together, viber call history, whatsapp text message history, skype calls, boarding passes, his divorce certificate, our marriage certificate e.t.c
Members please advise, what can i do to show the visa officer on our interview that my marriage is genuine and we are truely in love.
waiting eagerly to read from you.
Regards,
Africalady

Hello Aquarian ,

How long did it took for them to set a date for ur husband´s interview ?? I am wating for my interview but Im going crazy they havent give me a date yet :'(

Well, we had an extra step for Quebec residents, so withholding about a month, I would say that they took only 3 months to send email for interview.

How are you positive that you will have an interview?

What did they ask him ? :o

So sorry for the delay!

VO asked how and when we met, how it evolved, about how his family felt about how they felt about him wanting to marry a non-muslim, a non-algerian - btw, his parents, especially his mom, were not happy at first, but when he told them how I am, my beliefs, values, etc. they understood, and further understood when they met me!!! :D And when VO did ask him about his parent's reaction, he was honest with VO...

VO also asked how many trips we took, where I stayed, when I went and for how long. They asked him about my personal life; kids, work. She asked him to identify 2 pics (we did not write details on back of pics). VO really liked that his mother looked very happy with me in one of the picture's.

Unfortunately, he has had the visa since October, and is still not able to come; we are waiting for the exemption paper from the army (mandatory to do service in Algeria)...They said 2 months, and now said another two months.
I am so stressed because the visa will expire in a couple of months...

Just devastating....

Ughhh I'm in the same situation!

My husband and I were together for about 7 months before we got married. We eloped. His father was against the idea. His father died 6 months after we got married, and we told his mother we were married. His family now approves of it, and they all know about it (there was never an issue with my family). He is a muslim, and I am an atheist.

We're hoping to send his PR application in the next couple weeks! I'm hoping that having lived together for 2 years after marriage in a WAR ZONE (we live in Syria) will help prove that this relationship is genuine! Otherwise we're trying to include as much proof as we can, from chat records to photos to emails, etc.

I would love to hear some success stories about short relationships + no wedding!
