Hi

I got passport request on the 29th January 2014. Sent out my passport the same day and received it back today (6th February 2014) :D

I have heard that if the applicant is applying for a multi-entry visa (now all the visitor visa's will be multi-entry), processing times are faster and approval rates are higher if a person also shows that they have proof of medical insurance, even if it isn't required. Can anyone confirm this?

I'd encourage anyone to get a quote from a comparable resource like BestQuote Travel Insurance Agency (it's free, instant, and you don't need to engage with a saleperson with questions until you are ready). BestQuote has all the visitor to Canada policies, so you'll always find the better (or cheaper) policies on your quote, and they make it easy to review the details of each policy:

The will also answer any of your questions, and can help guide you in the right direction.

Jellytree....did u call USPS?

I did. Twice.

The first time I called them, the representative insisted that my passport was not delivered to the consulate, it arrived at the post office and "Delivered" to the post office, and she filed a claim for me...
The second time I called them again (just right now), the representative insisted that my passport was delivered to the consulate, I asked about how and exactly where it was delivered, so she filed an investigation for me...
Anyway, they are going to call me back in 2 business days...

As reference,
USPS tracking online said
"January 25, 2014 , 7:23 am
Arrival at Post Office
LOS ANGELES, CA 90057
"
then
"January 25, 2014 , 9:55 am
Delivered
LOS ANGELES, CA 90071
"

At the same time, I emailed the consulate the third time with no replay yet, as always...
Feel like the whole stuff is very disturbing to my work...

I am applying from USA and got a request to send my PP (visitor). Would like your opinion as to which location to send. NYC or LA?
Which is faster?

Thanks,

You are right grad_student…..u get nervous when u r unsure about the location of passport with visa….Jellytree, I called USPS no. in LA 213-483-3573 and the representative was positive that it was delivered on Jan 27th (monday)…..
