Applying Work Permit while waiting for LMIA Approval, does it work?

Would add that work permit processing can take 6 months even after receiving a positive LMIA. Approval for all is not gauranteed
Hello Everyone,
Recently i have received my work permit extension got refused few days, and in the letter it is mentioned to Apply for Restoration of my Status within 90 days. But i am planning to go back to my home country till i get the work permit through LMIA. so in this time do i need to apply for Restoration of my visa or can i leave the country by the end of this month without applying for my restoration application.

So my PGWP got expired in July before that I applied for LMIA in july and applied for work permit extension based on LMIA applied. But now days, I am hearing that most of the wp applications are getting refused because LMIA process is slow. My friend who applied in March. He got his LMIA now. But his wp extension got refused, he had to apply for visitor record.
QUESTION: Mine wp extension application is still NOT refused, but it can be. Since, LMIA is taking long time. What should I do by which I will not get a refusal,?
- Should I raise webform that I am still waiting for LMIA?
-Should I call and inquire about it, can they do something on call?
-is there anything else, I can expedite my LMIA. Please let me know. I don’t want to face wp extension application refusal,?

The LMIA is an issue for your employer, not you. So they need to call and ask EDSC about status. No way to expedite as believe they are processing March LMIA applications.
Calling IRCC doesn’t do anything because you don’t have a LMIA and that is not IRCC’s issue.

So do you mean you applied for and have an vistor record, as visa just lets you enter Canada. You need VR to maintain status. You cannot apply for closed work permit from inside Canada.
I am currently on Visitors record. So can we not apply for closed work permit from within Canada even if we get our LMIA approved?
No. You cannot apply online as a visitor inside Canada. Canada stopped allowing that on August 28
