somebody help me out there about my application for my PR
How do you expect anyone to help you with that kind of question?

You will have to be moore specific, of what help you need.

hi!its pleasure to be here because i have a lot of question about my application for PR as I am contract worker here and my husband will sponsor me to arrange my PR because my working permit will be expire on January 2015 and my Philippine passport will be expired on March 2015. So my question is can I apply my application PR even my passport will be expired next year and I want to ask how to apply an Open Work Permit because my LMO will be expire nxt year 2015 but I am preparing now all the documents for application of my PR.
Hope somebody can teach/help me how to process a OWP. thanks

Hello,
I have some questions:
a) Status of your husband. PR or citizen ? He lives in Canada?
b) When did you get married and where?
c) What exactly your nature of your job and how did you obtain your LMO?
d) What kind of relationship proof you have in support of your relationship?
e) Why can't you extend your passport in Canada from your country's embassy?

You can submit either inland or outland application staying inside Canada. Inland application takes double time. Gather relationship proofs as much as possible. If you can prove relationship with your husband is genuine, it will be a positive decision from the visa officer. You are blessed with a daughter recently which is a plus point. As regards extension of your work permit, senior members here may discuss more elaborately. If it is with the same employer, if they agree to extend, it may not be too hard. Regarding extension of your passport, check with your country's embassy in Canada.

With outland application, you can't have OWP and can't work. You can work till validity of your work permit being an inland applicant. But if you go outside Canada during your inland application, you may be denied entry to Canada and the whole application will die right there. You will have to start from the scratch.

The immigration law has changed a lot in recent months and especially in the case of marriage related immigration laws. Last month Jason Kenney, Immigration Minister Canada, announced reforms in the law. You can find the summary of the announcement in the website of Matthew Jeffery: matthewjeffery.com/blog/canadian-immigration/summarizing-jason-kenneys-comments-marriage-fraud/
In your case, I don't think there should be any issue, but make sure that you have all the required documents to prove the genuineness of the relationship with your better-half. The most consuming of application is document related, often people take more than two visits to get the correct documents to the immigration office.
It's simple if it is straight, you don't have to worry about anything.

Tanya, those reforms have been in place since late October of 2012 and only apply to those people who have been in a common law relationship or marriage for two years or less, and have no children in common. sheng has a child with her husband, so this does not apply to her. However, she and her husband must still provide ample proof that their relationship is real.

So it means I need to arrange my PR application first?and wait for the result before I can work?
I assume with inland application you can keep on working but with out land you can't.

Surprised no one has mentioned this yet . . . RENEW your passport at the nearest Philippine Consulate RIGHT AWAY with your "married" surname (you'll need marriage certificate for the name change). It took my wife only 3 weeks to get a new one. She also renewed hers WAY before it was up for expiry, and just for that reason too - to have married name in it for our PR application. But in your case you'll want to do so also since your current passport will expire prior to the end your application's processing. It's not mandatory, just something that WE personally recommend.
