Hi everyone. I'm an American and I've been visiting Canada as a tourist for the last 2.5 months. I was approved for a working holiday visa in June, but haven't activated it yet. I would like to activate it around late Spring for the seasonal jobs. In the meantime I would like to continue visiting Canada as a tourist, which means I will likely want to be here longer than 6 months as a visitor. I have a part-time remote job in the US and plenty of funds (definitely enough for 3-4 extra months). Is this an acceptable reason to ask for a visitor extension visa if I decide I want to spend more time here as a tourist? I would rather not activate my working holiday visa yet.
I don't have family in the area but I do have very close friends who I've been mostly staying with! Will I run into any issues with this reasoning when applying for extension? I can't tell how many people they turn down for it.
