Applying for TRV after Spousal sponsorship Outland

Hi Everyone,

I'm new here, we are about to apply for my wife's PR application. She's in India right now and looking at the processing times for folks I was wondering if it's a good idea to apply for a temporary visa right after applying for PR since we want to be together as soon as possible.

Is it a good idea to apply for a temporary visa? could it have an impact on the processing time/decision of the PR application?
How long is the current temporary visa processing time?

Yes, your wife can apply for a TRV. No, there will be no impact to the PR application.

Hi Pradeep, I am in the same situation. Have submitted outland application for my spouse and waiting for AOR before applying for TRV. I have heard that one should apply for TRV only after AOR. What did you do? What are your thoughts around this?

There are no rules. Your spouse only qualifies to visit so should show strong ties to India to have a better chance of approval like employment, savings, property ownership, etc. precovid most spouses would be denied but chances of approval are better now but still many get denied.
