Applying for tourist visa while waiting

Hello all! I am considering applying for a tourist visa for my husband while we wait for our sponsorship application to be complete, we are going onto the 6th month and Mexico VO is slow and will probably be another 5-6 months until it is complete so we want to apply for a tourist visa in the meantime so he can come visit. What will I all need in order for my application to be successful? He barely has any travel history that is my main concern.... We would book his flight both ways so they see that he will return to Mexico and also his work would write a letter..is there anything else I can provide? What is the amount of funds they need to see in our account? Any tips? Thanks in advance!

Bank Statement at least 6months from you Bank Account. Proof that there money coming every month.
I think your husband have no problem because he have a job in Mexico.

I would also recommend you to include personal reason for travelling to Canada rather than just saying 'Tourism' (like you have been away from your spouse, celebrating any occasion like your birthday or anniversary), it might help your application as your husband has less travel history, this might give another reason to grant him a Visa.
