Hi. I am about to apply for a study permit. I have an admission letter for master's. I want to apply under non-sds category I can show bank account statement having funds equivalent to 10,000 CAD, and an educational loan equivalent to one year fees.
My question:
Does the visa officer also check any loans (apart from the sanctioned education loan) under the candidate's name? I wish to take a loan against fd for a short term obligation and it won't reflect in my savings bank account statement. Would it be a safe move?

Why not apply under SDS if I may ask?

Why not apply under SDS if I may ask?
Because:
1. I don't have money to pay for first year tuition fee upfront. I'll be providing an education loan sanction letter instead equivalent to first year tuition fees.
2. I have approx 10,000 CAD worth of INR in my savings account which I shall be using to show proof of funds to live in Canada (although I might be able to take along only a part of it to Canada, owing to some obligations here). I'd survive primarily on survival/part-time job there. Showing this proof of funds will overcome the need of GIC.

To answer your question the IRCC officer do not check for any loans other than the one you submit. Secondly do not mention anywhere that you will support yourself with part time job here else you may get a -ve decision.

Thanks a lot!
If I can show only credit balance accounts and good to go, then that solves the thing! Besides, I'll be discharging that small loan taken against the FD which I'll be showing as the proof of fund.
Secondly, yes I will definitely not speak about a part time job!
Any other suggestion from you would be welcome.
