    They do not investigate usually, unless they find out that you have deportation or any surprise stamps in your passport they will simply put the visa counterfoil and return to you.

    You can apply from the US if it is your country of residence like on a work permit or study etc.. If you are a visitor in the US then you will likely be unsuccessful.

    Sorry to say but as an Immigration Consultant or a Lawyer it is not the professional's responsibility to write or guide for an SOP. If you need help you should get an SOP writer. But in that case, it questions your ability to study in Canada.
