Hi,

I am applying for the first time for a study permit to Canada, the semester starts 1st of September and i still don't have all required documents to apply. I expect i will be able to apply the first week of August. Is it too late?

Also, i am going through the check list to be included on top of the application all that is required are:
Application form IMM 1294
Family Info Form IMM 5645
2 Passport photos
Processing fee
Valid Passport
Photocopy of acceptance letter
Proof of sufficient funds for one year

Reading some of the posts on here a lot of people seem to include extra material like statements of purpose and study plans letters, and/or letter from employer. Should i include that too will that increase my chances of getting the visa?

I have a general question in regards to the "Background Information" section of the application form IMM 1294. Question 2 part c) Have you ever been refused admission or been ordered to leave Canada or any other country?

After graduating in USA, I intended to take some more courses to have on my transcript, and i was in the process of applying to the Canadian university that i got accepted in now and planning to go there for a second master. Before the semester started in USA for the courses i wanted to take and after getting my acceptance letter to the Canadian university i received a call from ICE agent and he asked me to make plans to leave the USA. I never met him or had to sign any papers or such, never was arrested. I got my ticket and left the USA so how can i handle that on my application and what are you my chances?

Thanks and good luck to all,

It's your choice to include SOP .. Usually people write SOP when there is a course mismatch and you need to convince the VO that your program matches your previous qualifications etc.
Study plan is only required in Sub-continent and don't get misled by posts here because majority of members come from Sub-continent where requirements and time-frame to get the visa is different.
If you have or had a job then you must show it with the application..It will for shooo increase your chances if it matches the program you are about to pursue in Canada.
and for USA i have no idea.

Hope this helps ^
