I'm applying for spousal sponsorship, where I am the sponsor, my American husband is the principal applicant.
I got my police certificate, medical exam is scheduled for next week, I'm wrapping up my application. But our case is weak in one area - financial support. I'm unemployed and make 0 dollars. I've been unemployed for 22 months. And I'm applying while unemployed.
Despite this, my mother and stepfather support me unconditionally and are eager to support my husband as well.
They bought us a car, and they make 100% of the monthly payments.
They bought me a cell phone, and they make 100% of the monthly payments.
They spent $30,000 to furnish the basement FOR my husband and I to live in.
They are giving the garage to my husband so that he can convert it to a workshop for his work! (He intends to work as a Housepainter/General Handyman/Woodworker in Canada)
My mother and stepfather combined make approximately $130,000/yr.
So in my mind, while trying to convince CIC that there is a stable financial support system, I figure these are all great points that would help paint that picture for them.
I figured I'd provide proofs of all above claims for CIC.
In your opinion, is this unnecessary or pointless? Is just a letter from my Mom + Stepdad + proof of employment (i.e. tax documents or letters from employers) sufficient?
Honest opinions and advice is appreciated.
