Applying for PR while on Maintained Status (as a visitor). What do we put for the "status" and "to" date? (IMM 0008)

This form is now done online so I will be referring to the question number based on the guide.

Question 10 Current country of residence has a follow up question about current immigration status and a 'from' and 'to' date for that status.

The applicant was previously under IEC 'Working Holiday' visa (open work permit) and are extending their stay as a Visitor. In this visitor extension application, we requested 12 months from the date their open work permit expires.

So my two questions are:

1. Do we put Visitor for their status or Other and explain that they are under 'maintained status as a visitor'? The guide has an example for Out of Status applicants but not Maintained Status applicants.

2. The 'To' date is required to be a future date (assuming when the status expires). In the event that you are in maintained status when you submit the application, what date are you supposed to put here? Do I put the date we requested in the visitor extension application? Or do we just put any future date?

Thank you!

Did they apply for the change of status before the OWP expired?

1. Until IRCC approves and changes their status to Visitor, I suggest going with the latter.

2. Normally the `To' date is the date that you submit the application, not a random day in the future.

Yes, they applied around the 30 days before it expired as recommended. Got the AOR and everything but I assume things will be quiet for a few months as the wait times are around 6 months.

For 2. Are you referring to the date we are going to submit the PR application? It doesn't allow us to put today's date as it requires a future date. The error is "Must be greater than today's date". If we shouldn't put a random date it probably makes sense to just put the requested extension we submitted? We were planning on including a letter of explanation for their maintained status anyway.
